So many children and teenagers are missing from the 70s; impossible to tell how tall they may have grown or what color their hair may have become in 15-20 years.

Yes, those entries are a challenge, eishouse. Not sure about the others here working on these lists, but for now I've only included them if the age-progression pics and descriptions (tall for his age) are a fit (rarely). Feel free to use your own judgment on this, though.

It's shocking how many teenage boys went missing, around age 17 in the '80's with reddish hair, just on the West coast. Tragic.

I'm going through the North American Missing Persons database www.nampn.org, 1980s, and have found a few more to add to the list, some better candidates than others. It's not the most user-friendly site (you have to click on each men's name to see details) but there are lots of names there.

It'd be great if someone here could check the 1970s:

http://www.nampn.org/mp1970-1979.html

and if someone could check the 1990s (just 1990 and 1991):

http://www.nampn.org/mp1995-1990.html

If you choose to accept this mission ;) you can check any candidates against the latest alpha list wenwe4 posted above; if name is not on there, go to Namus, enter the name in the search field at the bottom of the page, and see if info comes up about the missing person (sidebar links), including dental/dna availability, case # and agency contact info. Remember:

• Estimated age = 35-50, so birthdate should roughly be between 1942 and 1957 (we do have listings as late as 1961).
• Remains found March 12, 1992 – so “last seen” should be prior to that. *a body can be skeletonized in as little as 4 days, but test results indicate the UID died in 1991(Jan-Nov).
• Height 6’ – 6’3” inches tall with a 32” waist (if clothes found are his) means victim was probably less than 200 lbs (though yes, he could’ve lost weight while missing).
• Hair color: blond, strawb, sandy, or brown

I'll check the '90's...

In the missing person databases I went through, I didn't list anybody shorter than six feet tall because I thought LE had emphasized his height. So if we're going down to 5'10" I know I left out a few possibles.

I'm thinking our UID didn't have any tattoos, unless they were sliced off, since the perp would likely have to have assumed the UID would be found with the flesh still on him; presumably the hands and feet were removed for exactly that reason? Perhaps he could have had marks on the bone where tattoos were carved off? E.g. on the chest or back shoulder.

By the way, I did look up Poirot's Duenas (who was wearing a Ted Nugent T-shirt in his photo) to see if Ted Nugent had done a concert in the 1991-2 time frame in Reno, on the possibility that that might have brought Duenas to the area. No luck on that search, but it's also hard to figure out what bands Ted Nugent might have been playing with at that time.

Then I did some poking around on the net to find out what the Bandidos motorcycle club is about. Yowza! not my kind of people: gangstas......
