exactly!! and they may be ''other'' than the current victims re abuse in this case possibly or same??
 
so if bail application isnt decided until friday will it affect tomorrows session in court from proceeding?

So, Hillsley and Spedding were both arrested by Jubelin, the detective who has been working obsessively on William's case.

It seems that Spedding's defense are trying to link the assaults to Hillsley. Good luck with that. They are not dealing with an amateur detective here. Jubelin would be 100% on top of this.

Now that Spedding's defense have dropped this bombshell about the relation to Hillsley, it doesn't make Spedding look innocent. It thickens the plot in regards to pedophile rings. There is waay more to this - more bombshells and charges to come.

The Newcastle Herald can also reveal one of the state’s most respected homicide investigators, Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin, has taken over the lead role in the investigation just days after police searched two properties belonging to a local handyman.

Detective Inspector Jubelin, who has locked up some of the worst criminals in the state and was portrayed in an Underbelly series for his conviction of Anthony ‘‘Rooster’’ Perish, will now be the officer in charge following the retirement of Detective Inspector Hans Rupp.

gary jubelin wont give up, hes worked on the bowraville murders case for 20 years, he will have ready access to all the history of these people
 
According to his criminal history Hillsley was in jail in 1987 and could not have raped and assaulted the victims in the Spedding case.

15 In October 1984 he was sentenced in the Sydney District Court to an effective term of imprisonment for eight years, with a non-parole period of four years, for the kidnapping and what is described as the assault of a five-year-old girl. He had persuaded the girl to accompany him to some unoccupied premises at Parramatta, where he had anal intercourse with her. He was released on parole in December 1986 but his parole was revoked in the following month, following a report which expressed concern about what Gallop J described as his “inappropriate and potentially dangerous behaviour towards young girls”. It is not necessary for present purposes to recount that behaviour, which is summarised at p9 of his Honour’s judgment. He was released when his sentence expired, presumably by remission, in December 1989.

An 83-page document containing hospital records and allegations of child sexual abuse was tendered in the bail application by Mr Spedding.

Mr O'Brien said 'a known child molester' who had been 'apprehended for a breach of parole and was convicted for abducting a five-year-old in January 1987' had had access to the victims.

He said that while the girls had specifically nominated Bill Spedding as their abuser it was the result of discussions with their mother 'in a hothouse of suspicion'.

'While at hospital she nominated [Bill Spedding] as the offender,' Mr O'Brien quoted the judgement.

it's that pesky ''month'' that raises questions for me -- i.e. January 1987

yes he was sent back for ''dangerous'' behavior towards young girls -- question is how many??

Thanks bearbear, reading that article again and being reminded that Jubelin was brought into the case days after the raids makes the mind go into overdrive. Did they find something relating to Hillsley or associates in the raids? On the computer?

I think there was a reason stated for Jubelin being brought in - the retirement of a colleague - but somehow I don't think that's the full story.

The details about hillsley are horrifying....the judge in the 2003 case described him as "not entirely without prospect of rehabilitation". Bloody hell. He's already been jailed for two previous serious assaults, now a murder and kidnap, but he might be ok??

wonder if two mates, who are sexually deviant married two sisters as a cover for their activities? Then when that fell apart BS married a relative of another "mate" for a 2nd cover?

Mr O’Brian that there was evidence the victims may have come into contact with Hillsley.

The crown, however, said Hillsley’s parole was revoked in January 1987.

“That is quite an important point. As of April 1987, (Hillsley) was out of the picture. There is no evidence to suggest he was hanging around or had access to the girls at that time,” the Crown said.
 
Laws really need to change and be put in place. This is not a simple shop lifting offence, he should not be granted bail full stop end of story
