Bosma Murder Trial 06.13.16 - Day 60 - Charge to jury - Day 2

I am on the edge of almost being in tears. This feels so surreal to just wait now.

My own anxiety is through the roof right now.. I can't imagine how the Jury feels at this time..

Can't the reporters now start spilling the beans about the legal arguments?

Thank you all for tweeting and posting your opinions. Does anyone know how we will be notified when a verdict is reached? Will there be a time lapse for everyone to get to the courthouse?

I'm hoping all is well with some posters who have not showed up here for some time. It's hard to imagine this important day without their presence among us since these posters were active throughout. It's funny how online personalities are missed even when we don't actually know one another and even when we may not see eye to eye about this case.

Decision time is here. Praying for Tim's loved ones and for the jury who has to deliver justice for each accused. It is a monumental responsibility for the jury no doubt about it. I still think it will be first degree murder convictions for both. Time will tell.

All MOO.

Once this is all over, I will definitely miss you guys..
Until November that is.. for CN Case!!

@court

Court clerks sworn in to protect jurors, jury is out.

Tears in court as the proceedings came to their close just now.

Judge reminding jury again of presumption of innocence. #Bosma

"It is nearly impossible to prove anything with absolute certainty," says Goodman. Jurors must be satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt.

"Each of you has taken an oath...to render a true verdict," says Goodman. Sharlene Bosma's is covering face with her hand.

Now the court constables will be sworn in to protect and watch over jury while it deliberates. #Bosma

These constables literally stay watch outside the jurors' hotel rooms at night and escort them to meals and the courthouse

"Ladies and gentlemen, you may now retire to deliberate on your verdict," says court registrar. And with that, jurors leave to begin.

"All counsel have displayed the utmost professionalism," Justice Goodman tells lawyers, thanking them for their hard work during trial.

Court is now dismissed to await a verdict in the Tim #Bosma murder case.

In one text message exchange from February 2012, when talking about brokering a deal for what is believed to be the gun used to shoot Bosma, Millard said to Jackson: "BTW, is it clean or dirty?" Jackson responded, "clean," and then "bring her back safe plz."
Millard then wrote, "By the time I let her go, she'll be a dirty girl." Jackson responded, "thts [sic] fine lol. I can change her print."

That sounds very premeditated to me.

Just want to send out a group hug to you all! Whatever your opinion on DM or MS, I believe we are all here for truth, justice, and most importantly Tim Bosma.

As I am reading the judge's instructions and thinking this whole trial and all of the evidence over (and over and over again), more and more I think that this was just leading up to bigger and better things for the Millard-Smich team. In terms of Igor's test drive in daylight in Toronto vs Bosma's rural location nearing darkness, I think it is logical that they might think that they were at reduced risk for being seen, and the test drive with Igor was a practice run to get a 'feel' for the real deal before deciding on Tim's truck. I also have come to believe the truck in the SS videos that weren't included in Plaxton's report is Tim's truck and Smich was present when Tim was killed. I still maintain that the original plan was never to kill Tim in the truck more so to avoid blood evidence, but also to minimize clean-up and damage to the truck. I also wonder if the original plan was to leave the Yukon in the field and to retrieve it while Tim was being incinerated but they became too nervous that it would be discovered before they were able to, especially in light of the extra clean up time necessary.

They were both looking for bigger pay-offs and Millard had invested a fair amount of money into the incinerator. I think Millard was feeling out Michalski as a new recruit, and maybe there were other connections they were making.

Me too sab_ri! But with 3 more trials to go (CN for AATF, DM and MS for LB, and possibly DM for WM) we'll be hanging out together for some time yet.

All MOO.

I want to know why exactly this was argued out. It gives me rage.

Here is another one .....

Perhaps most bizarrely, Smich's ex-girlfriend, Marlena Meneses said in one of her police statements that Millard asked her to wear a prosthetic, hollowed out pregnancy belly to smuggle ammunition back to Canada from the U.S. "It's kind of like a bathing suit and then it had a skin-coloured plastic belly," Meneses said.
This plot never actually happened, she said, adding that Smich told her not to do it.

They swear to keep the jury private and not let people speak to them.

The jury is now retiring to consider a verdict.

Wow, that sinking feeling that came over me is unreal. Almost 5 months of listening to what witnesses had to say, evaluating each witness, picking out lies between the three examinations of each, many debates amongst us trying to figure it all out. Now the time is finally here and it feels scary, gutt sinking and almost a bit of excitement for justice, we now sit and wait for the Jury's verdict! Hopefully the media can hit the publish button and help fill in some gaps for us.

Many prayers to the Bosma's, you have all been stronger then I could ever be.
