Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.29.17 - Day 24

Not really. Because they didn't ask the expert witness if the metadata indicated it had been photoshopped. And he had testified that he could tell when an image had been photoshopped.

But DM proved one wrong! The Jeep/wheeling pic that WAS photoshopped and the expert couldn’t say that it was.

The whole point of MWJ coming back the second day was to refute the cold call on the guns and explain they were discussions. Did you miss that?.

No, I didn’t miss that. I noted previous discussions in my original post. There is evidence in the texts in this trial of previous discussions. The June call was still a cold call as far as the weapon in this trial goes, as I understand things. DM didn’t even know who was texting him initially, and IIsh explicitly says “Haven’t heard from you in a while”.

There is only one gun in this trial. No one can possible believe given the evidence given that it was a cold call as even MWJ had to say.

As the jury filed out — not for the first or last time Wednesday — Mark Smich turned around and grinned at Dellen Millard.

Well, I was there today and I was watching closely and no, I did not see that MS grinned at DM. I saw MS turned around to see public and he smiled to someone he saw. He looked very happy and it was a smile not a grin.

Hmmm maybe to a new "friend" in his life?

I've been thinking about that Alex Pierson comment about how it would blow our minds to know how those letters were getting to CN. I'm wondering if the police figured that's out and followed the trail back to CN's house to confiscate the letters

The expert had no meta data on that photo if I recall correctly.

The expert said he could tell from the metadata whether a photo had been photoshopped.

As you point out, if he didn't have the metadata, so it's irrelevant.

He never claimed he could tell without metadata.

Will the accused killers argue she took her own life? Or met with foul play? Or is lounging on a beach somewhere? Next week, we will finally hear how Millard and Smich – albeit through his lawyer – explain what they know of her disappearance.

I think it would be unwise for either defendant to make up some fable narrative for their closing arguments. The jury will see that they are both lying and convict them both with M1, quick.

Which is fine by me, but not so bright for them.

He did. But if you look at it, it's clear it's been photoshopped. Not necessarily to everyone, but it is.

The expert said he could tell from the metadata if a photo had been photoshopped. I don't believe he had metadata for the photo in question so the whole thing is irrelevant.

I do agree though that it looks photoshopped.

Forgive my ignorance, but would there ever have been an option for either accused to plead guilty to a lesser charge?

I think Smich's rap may be relevant in the closing since he did say the last time he saw her "was outside the home," not while he was involved in killing her.

Something along the lines that MS wasn't there or privvy to DM's plans and the letters are proof he was trying to pin it on him. I'd also hit one out of the park and add that the rap was written by DM and performed by MS. Just for a jab at Walt Disney lol

Both guilty, M1, MS counseled in the sizing and ordering of the incinerator. That is the premeditation part of the murders to come.
Without the Eliminator DM or MS or both would not have murdered LB.

Ahaha, I just remembered how I saw that crime specialist on CP24 state that he believed there was a 85% chance DM would testify. I bet he wishes now that he didn't make that proclamation on TV. :seeya:

It looks like MS and DM are still buddies, as the jury was leaving MS turned around and grinned at DM, today ugh, I guess no remorse at all.
