Misty brought to river

SATSUMA - Misty Croslin, who was babysitting Haleigh Cummings the night the child vanished, was brought Wednesday to the St. Johns River where authorities have spent two days searching for the child's remains.

The 18-year-old has been jailed on prescription drug trafficking charges since January.

On Wednesday afternoon, sheriff's deputies drove her from the St. Johns County Jail in St. Augustine to Shell Harbour Road in South Putnam. Croslin was wearing a blue jail uniform and her hands were cuffed in front of her.

Croslin was escorted to a dock extending into the river and spent about 15 minutes there, said Rick Ryan, chief of staff of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

"We took her out there," Ryan said. "She was taken to the search scene and then back to the jail in St. Johns County."

Ryan declined to say why Croslin was brought to the site or whether she provided information that was helpful.

"I'm not going to discuss any investigative details," he said.

Haleigh was 5 years old when she was reported missing by Croslin in a 911 phone call at 3:27 a.m. on Feb. 10, 2009, and no trace of the kindergartner was been found. The call triggered days of massive searching led by the Putnam sheriff's office with help from several neighboring counties, as well as officers from state and federal agencies.

This intense reaction by law enforcement hasn't been demonstrated since - until Tuesday, when some 50 officers took control of the Shell Harbour boat ramp.

I am getting real tired of the Sheriff :banghead:

Any case I followed, the Sheriff gave up more than this. He certainly could explaine things. From the first day, we have been mislead by LE. I understand the reason but if they already shared what happened to the family they could certainly phrase things a heck of lot better that he has done so far.

If he wants to re-elected, he better solve this case and start those lips moving with some facts.

I think Mr Brown solved the case up to the point that Misty named who did what. He could not have knowledge of Ron's role till Misty spoke. Ron and/or Misty were the only ones present when she died, and Ron and Misty were the only ones present when the police were called. Misty is not intelligent. She could not plan a coverup, She could not even plan a wash and dry. She can follow an order to keep her mouth shut. Until she heard what Ron and his family were really saying when she watched the family meeting from another room. I do believe Ron is going down.
Re the statement I bolded, nice one. ;) I'm not sure Ron and Misty were the only ones present when Haleigh died, but I do agree he shares some degree of responsibility, and I'll be shocked and furious if he comes out of this smelling like a rose.

Underwater search is no easy task

A water search is difficult for investigators, who must contend with visibility problems and safety issues as they hunt for clues underwater, an officer with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office said.

Capt. Don Tyson was in charge of that law enforcement agency's dive team for more than 25 years. During his time with the team, it searched for drowning victims and evidence as small as shell casings.

Tyson and the local Sheriff's Office are not involved in the ongoing search in the Haleigh Cummings case. Several North Florida agencies - including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and underwater searchers from sheriff's offices in Clay and Duval counties - are participating in the hunt.

Investigators have not said what they are searching for in the St. Johns River near Shell Harbour Road, about five miles south of Haleigh's Satsuma home.

Tyson called a water search more difficult than one on land. Searchers may use sonar to try and look for certain areas to concentrate the hunt and then conduct a grid-by-grid search of the location.

"We build in a lot of overlap in our searching" so divers still can locate even a small piece of evidence, he said

When Ron was at his GMS house for the holidays, TN told us that Ron said that he needed to go talk to Haleigh or be with Haleigh.....I wonder if he went to this location?....it's pretty close to GMS house.

Once again NG show was full of "late breaking" misinformation last night. If I had the time and inclination I would playback the footage and count how many times she described Misty pointing out the spot where the body was dumped while playing the same 20 seconds of "live" video showing Misty and LE on the dock with Mistys hands held meekly in front of her.

Did ANYONE besides NG see Misty point at anything? I must have missed it.

The way I see it RC has to be involved. I know these people all run from LE and hide everything for fear of jail time. If this was an accident, and RC was only called by Misty to help, he would have spilled the beans by now for a lesser sentence than what he is facing. ETA: He would never let Misty beat him to the punchline of plea. If, however, he was waiting hoping she would keep quiet b/c she luuuvs him, he may be very angry right now.

Nursebee opened a new thread for today's search btw.

It really would be a bombshell if it was ToC (though at least 5 clues point to him). The brick and the pier suggest JO too. I still don't suspect RC in the actual disappearance. I think the 90 calls were concern because he didn't trust those guys ... but I digress. I think MC may still be telling a half-truth. But if she was at the water with the search team, she was involved in the disposal! Must have been some how involved or in-the-know.

I think Misty came home and found Joe and Tommy with the baby. I think she went out..
they were in the house already. I think she may be an unwilling victim in all of this. This stinks of drugs, child neglect, sexual abuse and a witless band of sociopaths.

I'm getting too cranky. I am tired of all this orchestrating by LE. The P.I. stuff (approved by LE, for sure). All this stuff about a tipster. Who is reporting this stuff to AH, etc? I hope it is not a member of the cummings clan reporting to art.

The jail isn't releasing any tapes of tommy talking and telling. I can't imagine tommy and misty both pouring their hearts out to Granny on the phone but this is a very sick family. Somebody's seriously insane in this latest story... Fourteen freakin months, and this is what they have? If JO were the perp, I would think this would have been pretty obvious from the start. Misty said on the first day she thought her cousin could harm haleigh, why all this time to narrow it down. There would be prints, etc.

...I need to put myself in a corner, cause I am way too frustrated to deal with this carp right now..

I know I look and watched to see if she pointed...didn't see it....

Whisp;

I hear ya. Maybe LE is not going to say who tipped, or admitted, or whatever, for fear of someone else getting hurt in this mess. We just have to hang in there and worry about Haleigh being found. Chin up!!!

In reference to myself, I believe GGMS told a whopper..The information didn't even come out until about 10 days after Haleigh was missing and after rumors were flying that Misty was not at the MH that night..She came forward then and claimed she saw Haleigh eating dinner on the front porch and told the reporters that Misty was there that night.. In all reality though her statement never proved Misty was there the entire night so I suspect her claiming she saw Haleigh was to provide an alibi for her grandson...I suspect she knew he had arrived at work by the time she claimed to have been there and seen Haleigh...JMO

EDIT...Let me add, I do not believe anyone in the Cummings Clan should be considered as being a reliable witness..

I was talking about this post and I do not and never did believe GGS

I am too Whisp. I haven't had any sleep trying to keep up with this. Too many thoughts in my head. At this point, do you know how feel :furious:?

WAKE ME UP WHEN THEY FIND HALEIGH..:furious:

Natisha Lance, NG's producer was sitting on another dock and watched the whole event....just because we have not seen the WHOLE video does not mean MC did not point..
