And how would this mattress nail down the last time Zahra was seen...or help account for the timeline?

By connecting the dump of the old mattress (if it contains remains as some suspect or even simply blood evidence and traceable decomp) and the finding of the new mattress the only person or persons who could have killed this child and then replaced the mattress is a member of that household.

Another completely other possible reason a mattress might be found is that an employee of the landfill may have remembered a person(persons) of interest who came to dump recently and an old mattress was one of the items in the garbage. I am supposing here. I have no knowledge of that.

I don't care either way if its the prosthetic or a mattress they are looking for. I can see good arguments for both items. Wherever they find whatever they find, the garbage around it will narrow the timeline as to when dumped. That much closer to the window of time LE believe Zahra died and when she was reported

All conjecture, pure and simple on my part. A way of prepping to build the case in my head. Try to imagine what sort of case is being built.

Okey dokey..

I've got an update to share - as I've located 23 additional case #'s for EB under her Proctor alias. I've added a Part 3 to the screenshot PDF files.

But first.. here's an Excel spreadsheet listing ALL the charges I've located to date. Much easier to download - and now you can sort and view the history however you like.

A couple of comments off the top of my head...

It looks like CATAWBA and LINCOLN counties have had a much, much higher conviction rate on EB than CALDWELL. She may have been somewhat drawn to Caldwell county - even if subconsciously - by the legal "reprieve" she seems to have gotten there in the past.

1992 sure was a big year for bounced checks. My speculation: she was recently split with - or in the process of splitting - from Mr. Proctor. She was out spending her "magic money" on shoes, clothes, and getting her hair done.. hustling to nab the next man!

It seems clear to me EB highly impulsive and fueled by an extreme sense of entitlement. Most of us wouldn't exploit small business owners to acquire non-essential goods/services (deliberately, over and over again).

:furious:

And how would this mattress nail down the last time Zahra was seen...or help account for the timeline?

Maybe LE knows when they got the "new" mattress which has none of Zahra's DNA on it - this could narrow it done some, i guess. :waitasec:

http://news.mync.com/site/news/story/56324/missing-nc-girls-stepmom-due-in-court-wednesday/

this article says she had a relationship with this man in England for a year

I really wonder if Adam knew. How did she hide $10,000 from him? Where did he think her drug money came from other than her family to buy new drugs?

Ten thousand dollars is a lot of money. He lived in the house - yes he worked long hours but he had to notice 'new things', a new stash of drugs, etc. Right? He'd notice, right?

wow. Any word yet about remains involved?

Still watching the video clip - doesn't say anything about what is evidential about the mattress. No report of remains yet

It could be that they were in on it together--like he figured they were tricking the guy into sending money with a "fake" relationship. (After all, some couples conspire to have the woman actually sleeping with someone else for money, so he might not have been bothered with the idea of a virtual relationship.) JMO

LE will be back searching tomorrow report says (shopgrl linked above)

so they are not done looking. Either they think there may be more evidence, or the mattress they were removing has nothing to do with their search.

If it is connected we will hear soon enough I suspect.

Giving a thought right now to those who genuinely love and cared for Zahra.

Wonder if they bought it at that furniture store?

Also, it might not be that they knew when the new mattress was acquired, just that it didn't have evidence of Zahra on it. Then if they found the discarded mattress they would be able to date it by other stuff in the same part of the garbage heap (newspapers, and so forth). JMO

I wonder if the man in London has been contacted yet?
I'm sure his info is on her computer. I wonder how she received the money?
I wonder if she will blame her bad checks on the mysterious man from England!
But your Honor-he said the money was in the bank!!

N.C. girl's stepsister: Don't free my mother

http://www.heraldonline.com/2010/10/21/2547339/nc-girls-stepsister-dont-free.html

Amber Fairchild, 25, described her mother, Elisa Baker, as a potentially violent and unstable woman who has severed ties with her N.C. family and begun an online relationship with a man in London.

It says that AB claims not to have spoken to EB since her arrest. I thought someone had mentioned his having been one of her visitors at the jail?

Even if it is THE mattress we suspect that they were searching for, there could very well be other relevant evidence in the same area. There could be all sorts of things...

I am not aware of that, do you have a link please?

It seems that if they bought a mattress from a local business, then the salesperson would have contacted LE to let them know about it. Of course, maybe they have been contacted and the information is being withheld from the public.

Mattresses are not cheap...even "cheap" ones are costly. Wondering how people who wrote so many bad checks and had so little money could afford a new mattress for a child that is no longer living?

Also, I'm curious about all these bad checks, when EB had $10,000 flowing over in smaller amounts over the course of a year....

I think some posters were speculating about why AB didn't visit his wife and confront her about what happened to Zahra. But we've heard no mention that he visited EB in jail.

No body (no Karen Baker) has been on FB discussion boards. I wonder if she was asked to stop! Just thinking aloud. lol

Why hasn't she been charged with felony bad checks In Ohio they call it Petty with a Prior, she would have been charged with a felony by now on the bad checks.
