re: facetime.. I don't have an iphone so I'm not up with all its capabilities, but I'm thinking perhaps facetime was one of the methods GBC & TM & etc & etc kept in contact undetected from the wife (does it show up on bills, anyone know??), so perhaps he stupidly thought it would be undetected from police too.

Re: find my phone app... I'm assuming if the phone is switched off it can't be located by the app. can anyone elaborate on what it takes to do a search for a phone using this app, is it quick and easy - no pc required? seems strange he would do this 15-20mins after waking up, and also make mention of it in an SMS. perhaps he tried the app to be certain her ph wasn't pinging before contacting police and only made mention of it in the sms to cover himself (i have no doubt whatsoever he knew the exact location and status of her phone anyways!!).

re: luminol pics. can the captiva boot carpet be removed easily? i don't own a captiva, but in my car the carpet in the boot is held down by a clip because the spare tyre is underneath it. could the carpet have been removed whilst the transportation occured? it seems clean as a whistle while there's marks all over the latches and arches. i totally agree that the wheel arches look like a good resting place for a wet dripping rag.... to me, it reaks of a 'man' cleaning job - sorry guys :). IMO: marks on rear drivers door suggests signs of the first attempt to load the car - realising there wasn't enough space the seats were then lowered, leaving marks on the latches - and the wheel arches show evidence of wet cleaning rags placed on them.

re: blonde hair stuck to blood. tests are apparently still ongoing in regards to this hair. i know after I've been to the hairdressers I have tiny hair cuttings falling off me until I've had a shower. perhaps the blond hair was a left over from her trim - which would not have the bands of a deceased person. can anyone elaborate on what happens to the bands in the hair to indicate it was from a deceased person, how long does it take for the bands to change/show up?

I'ts amazing isn't it that they were a million dollars in debt but the whole family seem to be able to afford the brand new iphones. Credit checks must have passed if they were on plans.

my 22 year old uni student son (with no job )had no trouble with them handing over a brand new iPhone4 two months ago as he was an existing customer

... In my view 99.5 per cent of posters on here are street smart, well educated, honest and have uncanny bull sh#t detectors. I admire them greatly and would never suggest they take just anyone's word for anything.

Agree. We trust our own sleuthing. Level of education aside, we have good, decent, reasonable people contributing on this site who have cannily developed good ' b... s...' meters. People with professional training are just 'people' underneath and subject to the same influences as the rest of us. IMO using ones professional status to 'cast doubt' is an act of influence in itself. We will consider your views, but we will form our own opinions.

Grannie - trust me - I'm a doctor... (joke! - the "trust me" bit at least)

That first link is discussing laser surgery in the lungs - nothing to do with "injecting" air at all. And the second one is describing a paediatric cardiac surgery post-op case. They comment, as did I, on the fact that it is rare. And the situation was exactly what I described when I said that cardiac surgery is one area where air has to be evacuated from the system at the time of surgery. Carotid surgery is another.

Neither of those links describes "injecting air" or negates the info I posted. And yes, I do know what I'm talking about.... Both of those situations are ones that I have spent many, many years doing myself.

While I'm more than happy to have "robust" discussions on anything, there would seem to be little point in having verified professionals on here, if their posts - especially ones regarding facts - are not even believed and people then try to "prove" them wrong. I'm not trying to say that everything I may post is never wrong - I post on other aspects of the case that have no more "cred" than anyone else does. But when it comes to posts on facts in my area of expertise, then if someone wants to argue the points, that would seem to be a bit presumptuous. Do you really think I would post something in my area of expertise that I wasn't certain was correct? If you went to see a specialist and they gave you some information - would you argue and try to tell them they were wrong? Again - don't get me wrong - I'm all for inquiring minds and skepticism. But isn't that why I had to prove my credentials before my membership here was approved? Please give me some credit for knowing what I'm talking about.

And let me reiterate - I do believe that GBC is looking more and more like the guilty party, on the evidence we have. And I'm not trying to steer people's thoughts away from that - but just to keep minds open that there COULD - just maybe - be another explanation for the events. Highly unlikely, as I've said - but possible.

If GBC and family were using Facetalk, I also wonder if they were using iMessage. Messages can be sent via wi-fi and 3G and won't show up as standard text messages on a bill.
If there's no record of any calls (besides the FaceTime call) or text messages sent between 10pm and 6am, are there records in Apples DB of iMessages that were sent ?

Good point, he must have been keeping up with payments and I am sure he is not a million dollars in debt. When one is in so much debt a regular phone should do. IMO
The plans on iphones are the most expensive.

i was just thinking about allison and even though she was a loving mother and a good wife..it could also be possible that when she found out that the ex gf was no longer the ex gf and still very much in the picture and actually would be at the conference the next day and also somehow perhaps found out about the whole deal in relation to the money..and that he was going to leave her...she was so distraught she did take some medication as she couldnt bare the hurt any longer and also that suicide does not warrant payout of insurance money so he would get nothing...i dont think this would be the case but thought when people are driven to such distress things do happen.... Then GBC came home and found her and went omg i wont get any money now..and my gf will also go cause i cant get that money so he dreamt up some way of getting rid of body to make it look like a murder.but all backfired.....hmmm..just another thought...
From all accounts, Allison was a 'coper', not a quitter. She was the main carer of the children and she would not leave her 'babies'.

Also why would an old man use an iphone? Most older people I know barely know how to switch on a computer let alone use facetime. LOL

Telstra's iPhone plans start at $59/month for the 4s, and as you can make iPhone to iPhone calls and SMSs for free, it could actually be more economical if the rest of your family have them too. They are not the most expensive phone - they are around the same price as other smartphones.

I don't agree that it's uncommon for older people to have an iPhone. Both my in-laws do and neither are tech-savvy.

Remember the luminol testing on the Chamberlain car that helped get her convicted.......just sayin

I'm not sure why people continue to bring up the Chamberlain case considering it was over 30years ago. Police work, crime detection, forensics & technology have gone ahead in leaps & bounds since that case so really there's no comparison at all.

How about we talk about the 1,000's of cases since the 80's where the accused has been found guilty by evidence from all those things I just mentioned & those killers are still in prison.

Yes, very interesting article this one!

Another rumour also proven as fact.

Mr Baden-Clay had also told police he and Mrs Baden-Clay had been attending counselling services over his infidelity, which had ceased. He said the counsellor had advised they talk about the infidelity and relationship issues for 15 minute blocks at night.

He is not really that old and given he is a businessman, I suspect he is quite tech savvy. My 90 yo father in law has a computer, takes a lap top with him on weekends away and has no problem with being tech savvy. He has a galaxy 3.

Great thanks for that.
I was giving my opinion only.
Some old people do some don't,certainly not one older person I know would have the patience for an iphone, not even my Dad who is the smartest guy I know and around the same age as NBC.

I guess my point that saving money by buying a cheap phone got lost. IMO not much was being done to save themselves from enormous debt.

Yep, a fact where the bit about the infidelity ceasing had been a lie! lol

Just on the point of iPhones etc - I would imagine that GBC had a business plan with Telstra or similar, and probably got multiple iPhones on the bundled plan.

They wouldn't have had to "buy" the iPhones. That's what we've done - my other half, my mother-in-law aged 85, etc all have iPhones on a contracted plan. The phones cost nothing - they come with the plan. Another family member runs a business that has about 80 staff, and they all have iPhones on plans. Needless to say, there was no initial outlay for the phones.

I would guess that Century 21 would have had the business plans for the phones running through the business. No surprise there, despite speculating as to WHY NBC would have had a smart phone. The fact remains that he did.

And as someone pointed out - that may in fact be a much cheaper option than using landlines, or different phones from different suppliers. All our calls between the iPhones on the plan are free.

Happy to lurk...but too frustrated that none of you have speculated the following clincher IMO IMO IMO.

Stubble found under fingernails???? IMO IMO IMO.
All other evidence redundant. IMO IMO IMO.
Scrathced flesh caught under fingernails may decompose and not be forensically evident, but stubble hair doesn't. IMO IMO IMO
Whatever the outcome...Allsion's suffering is over, and those who remain, guilty AND innocent, are in a living hell 24/7. I am just so sorry for all of them - ALL of them. It takes 3 generations of a family for murder to lift its shadow....both the offender's family and the victim's family. They are all worthy of your prayers. And you are too. And I am not God-toting, by the way.

To make you feel better, i'm about the same age and I don't have an iPhone and I hate smartphones, it takes me so long to type anything out (used my son's when mine took a dip in the mop bucket). They seem like way too much work for me. I know where everything is on my older style phone and I can do what I need without even looking.

Certainly some interesting information in this article, particularly:

re: the injuries to GBC's face, chest, torso and neck.
re: 'neither Mr Nigel Baden-Clay or Mrs Elaine Baden-Clay had consented to further interviews with police.'
re: '$290,000 of the ($1 million +)debt was due to be paid back by June 30'
