We've talked about Jeff Ashton's book :crush: at length on the board, and we've talked about Jose Baez's book :bigfight: at length here also.

But I'm wondering if anyone here has read the book by Dr. Leslie Seppinni titled Who is Casey Anthony - Understanding the Motherly Motivation for Murder....

I hadn't really noticed it before but I read the introduction and the first couple of free pages and was quite fascinated....Might have to buy it...I see it has 4.5 stars....

I'd like to hear more about this book if you do in fact read it. If it makes sense, i.e., is well-written and logical, doesn't sugar-coat or excuse...well, maybe it is a title that should be recommended within the text of each review posted on Amazon against Baez's 400-page gossip-fest.

Ding-dang! I go away for ONE night, bring my laptop and leave the casino early to read your posts and thank you all and the instant I fall asleep all heck breaks loose in the convent! And, it couldn't have been for a happier occasion.

Are there any left-overs?

BTW, I just pre-ordered Ashton's paperback for the new afterward. I can't wait to read it. Since my DH is the Amazon guy in the family and pays for free shipping (we make a bundle on that deal with all the books he orders), I e-mailed him the page.

His comment back to me was, "Why are you buying TWO copies of the same book?" I explained about the new material and he understand. The OTHER reason is that I want to keep the hardcover copy in pristine condition. Maybe someday, I'll get to meet him and have him sigh it for me.

Our major bookstore in 2 counties, Borders went out of business and we have been bereft. Books-a-Million doesn't do it for me at all. I just got news that Barnes and Noble will be opening a new store there. I'm sooo... happy! :razz:

BTW, Casey's 15% of nothing is zilcho, nada, bupkis, a few pennies to put in her purse.

Saw you were missing from the celebration last night - it was impromtu and those of there were hysterical with laughter at the speed of light drop!!

Speaking of earnings - we do know BenBella is a self publishing house - so what I really really want to know is how much it cost Baez to even get it out to print and released???? All those pages must have set him back a few bucks....:floorlaugh:

Gonna do some homework on self publishing costs - I have a feeling Jose hasn't broken even yet.....:giggle:

Thank you for bringing the book by Dr. Leslie Seppinni to my attention. My daughter just bought it for me and downloaded it. Now I'm off to do some serious reading. I'll let you know how it goes. The introduction and free pages pulled me in and I had to have it. I hope that it answers some of my questions or at least helps me to understand how Casey could do what she did and why she is who she is.

You are correct, ANJ!

My son and I volunteered for the "big" search for Caylee with TES. He was a team leader and I just worked the paperwork end ~ collecting the applications and verifying identities. No money was ever involved!

I need to catch up on this thread, but I wanted to jump in and add, that I searched as well, and never paid for anything!

If you go to their site, http://www.benbellabooks.com/authors.php, it is interesting to read how they operate. The "For Agents" and "For Writers" sections are quite interesting. Actually, it is interesting to read the entire site! I was looking at their releases, and they have entries for Spring and Fall 2012. Nothing about authors who were published in the summer!

As for advances, the site says:

Most of our deals are traditional, with standard big publisher royalties and advances in the $3K to $10K range. We have gone higher for particularly attractive projects, as high as $100K for one project in particular. We pay full royalties on author sales and we pay full royalties on special sales (at discounts up to 50%, and 15% of net for deep discount sales). We also pay double royalties on direct sales, once the quantity exceeds 500 copies

Well, I screen capped that garbage last night about Tim Miller charging a fee to search. I searched with TES for Katelyn Markham and I was never charged a fee or even asked for a single penny. Sent it to Tim Miller's email. I would be shocked if he charged back when the search was going on for Caylee and maybe someone who went out with TES for her specifically can weigh in if they were charged a fee. I would bet ten thwartcakes that they were not charged a fee.

An FYI, there is a 25.00 membership fee to join TES...not to search...I am a member and have been for a number of years. When you are a member you are called upon to search by TES on many searches. Searchers that join a specific search are not charged a membership fee
