Thought provoking and prescient blog post by author Nathan Bransford regarding violence saturating the youth of Colorado, written after the movie theatre shootings.

But I do know that story lines about teens learning to become violent badasses bother me. Stories that glorify vigilantism bother me. Stories that use our natural, inherent fascination with violence to cheaply entertain us bother me.

Goodnight everyone. Be nice to one another so I can quit sounding like a hippie on here. ;)
Thank you mods and thank you new posters and everyone. <-- see, how easy it is? And I even have PMS. <3

anyone figure out what the username dohastvath means?
anyone good with rearranging letters, or codes?

I believe our poster from Berlin provided an informed translation of Dohastvath.

Just my opinion....I have been a member here since 2009 (I think). I mostly lurk and thank posts. I'm too busy in RL to immerse myself into these cases like I really want to do. One day. I'm still a full time working grandma of lots. The point that I want to make is that I love coming to WS for the collaboration, insights, opinions, thought and logic that comes from each and every poster. To me it is a breath of fresh air in that everyone who posts here is actually thinking and caring about each and every aspect of each and every case. There are no flippant/robo thoughts. Just everyone trying to pitch in.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. I am hooked for life. (And one day, when and if I get to actually retire, I promise I will do all of the background work that you are doing now). Just can't do it right now. I trust your guts 1000%.

thank you all,

ME

Catching up. Not too much to add. One quick thing:
I saw several posts about the ITNP or whatever the abbreviation or acronym was for AS personality, I wanted to share that I recognize those results as something I have seen before, it is actually a quiz that was going around facebook not too long ago, for example I saw on a friend's timeline "Bob is a XXXX type personality, click to find out which you are", I clicked it, it was a very basic quiz asking hypothetical questions about feelings and situational reactions. I don't even remember my results.. My point is, it was something going around Facebook, so it doesn't mean someone was concerned about possible personality disorders, or looking to self-diagnose, it could have been an innocent stumble-upon. it automatically posts your results on your Facebook wall if you link through your FB account.
I googled and found the link for the personality quiz:
http://www.123test.com/ISTP-personality-type/

Not sure if someone posted the following earlier, bc I am reading backwards (so I know it hasn't been posted afterwards...) - but, in case it hasn't, here goes:

INTP refers to one of sixteen different personality types in the Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory. Here's a page listing all types: http://www.personalitypage.com/high-level.html

Specific to INTP, it says:
INTP - The Thinker

Logical, original, creative thinkers. Can become very excited about theories and ideas. Exceptionally capable and driven to turn theories into clear understandings. Highly value knowledge, competence and logic. Quiet and reserved, hard to get to know well. Individualistic, having no interest in leading or following others.

Click here for a detailed description of INTP: http://www.personalitypage.com/html/INTP.html

-Anywho, if you're interested in the letters, here's what they are supposed to answer, followed by what each letter stands for:
1 our flow of energy
2 how we take in information
3 how we prefer to make decisions
4 the basic day-to-day lifestyle that we prefer

Within each of these categories, we "prefer" to be either:
1 Extraverted or Introverted
2 Sensing or iNtuitive
3 Thinking or Feeling
4 Judging or Perceiving

(neurotically cut and pasted from http://www.personalitypage.com/html/info.html )

???? It's just a pic of the Jeep as it is being towed away. It should say #14 but for some reason the #15 came up.

I just wondered if AS drove a green Jeep, too? I have no idea...just wondering why the news would post that picture of that green Jeep with the boys in it, if it is not AS driving.

I actually heard it on the news. Warren Tech was a HS alternative. It is a HS in the school system, "Career and Technical High School for Jefferson County Public Schools". Regardless if I heard it on the news, in my experience as well, alternative HS's are for kids who aren't quite making it in mainstream HS. I didn't just make this up.

Some districts have the special vocational classes (cool careers, yes!) in the same centralized building as many AP classes (for academic, very college-bound folks) and even the alternative education classes, where folks who aren't doing well at their school often go to at least catch up.

That said, I also had a friend who took 'alternative education' classes at our common building for that her junior year in high school in order to do two years at once because she and her parents were going on a world cruise her senior year. Sometimes you never know ;)

I took both college classes on local college campuses and high school classes my senior year. I dropped certain usual things about my high school degree to pursue my university interests earlier (I took more college languages and fewer high school maths than my peers). I could see someone dropping the whole degree and getting a GED to go on to college earlier, although that takes so much longer to explain later in life, lol.

Right so case law. But again if they are able to prove he is sick killer getting his kicks might change something

R.I.P. Autumn

This is a Supreme Court ruling, so I doubt it will be changed just for AS.

He deserves the maximum sentence, IMO, but it won't be death or LWOP due to his age. Even if he is tried as an adult.

No just you... remember your seeing stuff roflmao sorry

I have been told I am color-blind, too:) But really, this site keeps trying to load "Teebik"

Lol... I'm on my phone laying in bed thinking I have to clean up a scene tomorrow morning lol

These individuals "tick" like faulty hard drives or corrupt software. Just as you can't run an F disk on a factory-defective hard drive and get a functional computer, or clean up a perverted file, you can't "rehabilitate" a sociopath. There is badly written or missing code in these people that is not created by bad childhoods, not getting invited to proms, flunking tests, being bullied, viewing *advertiser censored*, or being abused.

The world can be a tragic, maddening, and grief-provoking place. But the number of people overcoming these factors and aspiring to have positive impact on such factors, or in spite of them, is greater than the number of individuals taking up the sport of systematically hunting fellow humans, hacking them up, and tossing remains in open spaces or hoarding body parts in the family home.

We can understand the common traits of such individuals and study how they operate and how to avoid contact with them and limit the potential for their opportunistic encounters with victims. But if we put these individuals on Zanadu and fed them nothing but honey from the gods and gave them Joseph and Mary as parents, they would still find someone weaker to prey upon and harm.

I think of it like this - a reticulated python or piranha might make interesting science and behavior study projects or pets from a safe distance, but their nature is unchanged by altering their environments or giving them decent care.

OMG, thanks wasn't enough.

My very best friend growing up was a charming psychopath, and she eventually hurt me to the core in a very criminal way. I knew her parents like close, close family. I heard all of her tales, so I knew how she saw her own childhood, too. The girl was just missing something, and she was brilliant at pretending she was like other people. Quite frankly, she just wasn't like other people, and she knew it. It's like a different species, imho.

I'd have an easier time believing she was really an alien sleeper than believing that her home life caused her to be that way. OTOH, her real, biological dad and bio cousin were bad, bad seeds, too. I would believe a strong genetic component in her case.

eta: Oh, but she was spoiled, and her parents (mom and adopted step-dad from infancy) thought she could do no wrong. She hid all of her wrongdoings, but I do wonder if being emotionally and otherwise spoiled may play a factor. She certainly felt special!

My roommate when I was out of high school went on a killing spree in Georgia and Texas. Lol.

That's y I am what I am today

Dunno if this is helpful at 3AM, but there are free mini versions of the MBTI online... Lemme google it:

Long, and dunno what results look like, bc sometimes these sort of sites require valid email or something:

Short and self-scored, easy: http://www.personalitypathways.com/type_inventory.html

Record show I think there is a second person...... that's also y a gag order in affect :)

So I'm wondering if I'll get a reply back from Mr. David Mitchell at KDVR? I'm thinking not and I'm thinking that the article will be updated again with links removed or gone period....or not. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I bet you might get a reply.
