On the day the jury annouce their verdict of 1st degree pre-meditated murder, I hope they all come in dressed in the same colour. The DT would be all excited and then be smashed when the verdict is announced.

Does this man think JM works 24/7? That would mean the AZ taxpayers would really have something to complain about with all the overtime. jmo

Lawyers don't get overtime. :) Professional exemption to FLSA.

LOL now that would be something wouldn't it? Maybe when they are ungagged we can coerce them to meet us on the rooftop. ;)
Im new to WS, but not the trial. That would be something! Would love to have an up close and personal rooftop chat with any of the jurors Kathy could sweet talk into coming!!

I finally got to convert the Dr. Drew show from my dvr.

This is 2 days ago with the WS poster, My3Sons and KatieDDJ

Hi AZlawyer, I'm interested in your take on the Hughes emails. Hearsay is the reason they are not in evidence? Are they in evidence? Will the jurors get to see them in their entirety? If they are hearsay ... then why all the "paraphrasing, spin, opining by witnesses". Why can't the jury see them and draw their own conclusions?
ETA ...It seems unreasonable to let them be discussed at length without being to privy to the actual emails.
What am I missing?
TIA

Yes, I assume they are not in evidence for hearsay reasons. If Sky Hughes gets on the stand in rebuttal, lots of it wouldn't be hearsay any more.

Experts can rely on hearsay to formulate their opinions and can generally describe the nature of the materials they relied upon without actually admitting the hearsay into evidence. Of course, then the opposing counsel can point out the folly of relying on hearsay, e.g., "Did you ASK Sky what she meant by this email? If she says this isn't what she meant, wouldn't you agree that she would know better than you do?"

I hope no one minds if I ask my question here. The other thread moves so fast and it gets buried. Is it acceptable for JW to accept emails from the court room observers, as she has from the 17 year old young lady? If I am wrong just say so. But it seems that responding to her would be misconduct as well. Thank You.

How could that be misconduct?

If the DT wants the jury to not see or hear anything on breaks or after court, then they should suggest that jurors be escorted from the property and make some rules that the jurors cannot hang out around the building.

You'd think! In a high-profile case in CA (Scott Peterson or Michael Jackson (I think SP)), jurors who wanted to smoke on breaks had a special patio that had covered barriers all around the edges to a) give them privacy, and b) keep them from seeing the spectacle outside (although they could HEAR things, potentially). Also, the SP jurors assembled at a location away from the courthouse and a bus shuttled them to court and back in an effort to keep people from following them or hounding them to and from their cars. It didn't keep people from following the BUS, of course, but it made it more difficult.

The bottom line is that, if the jury is not sequestered, there's only so much that can be done to keep them shielded from anything that might potentially prejudice them one way or another.

Just wanted to drop by and say something, hope this doesn't bother your flow of conversation. I just got the chance to watch KDDJ's appearance about her photo being part of court now and I am trying to get this message to her.

I don't know if she comes here often but if she is reading, please do not feel bad. You got up on TV and made yourself clear. You are not trying to get in with some crowd or be a groupie. It's obvious where your heart stands and where you want your future to go. The justice system. You are fortunate enough to meet this brilliant man who is part of that system.

While I don't want there to be anymore issues for Juan concerning photo taking, autographs and such, I DO think he should get all the accolades he deserves when the trial is over. And Katie I hope you get another photo with Juan just so you can have a memory that isn't muddled up by the DT's desperate attempts to make Juan look bad.

Juan deserves the love he is getting from the people he is serving. That is his state and you are his people. As humble and amazingly sweet as he is maybe it's time he understands this isn't about getting with some rock star. It's about Juan, and Juan is a wonderful man.

Wow, sorry if that ended up long winded. :blushing:

So sweet I will make sure she sees this ML :)

I noticed today Jodi keeps looking toward the Prosecution table just moving her eyes not her head. Then she writes something. She did it quite a bit. Wonder what she is writing.

IMO, she may be sketching a photo of JM...doing more artwork to sell from jail

I go back and forth on them. There is something hinky about that whole family dymanic. I can't put my finger on it. One day I feel kind of sad for Sandy, the next day I observe her inappropriate behavior and I don't feel bad for her at all.

I wonder if it's she doesn't know how to act/react, she's from a small town and she's thrown into this globally known trial and her daughter is the defendant.
I dunno, but there is something "off", I can't figure out what it is.
I wonder what Sandy and her sister's home life was like. Since they are identical twins I get the feeling they have their own special way of dealing with stress. I know this is probably weird and might sound crazy, but the way they carry on together with the whispers and giggles, could be because they are in their own little bubble the rest of the courtroom might be so irrelevant to them that they aren't really aware of everyone around them.

Added to that some people laugh too much when they are nervous or even depressed. Can you imagine what Sandy's life might have been? I know one thing for sure: there but for the grace of God go I.

Picture this- me in my car in the garage of our new (empty) house waiting furniture delivery reclined all he way back with my feet sticking out the window listening to these interrogation tapes on HLN radio. Oh and eating chocolate eggs. This is he life lmao

Ps the car is not running!!!!

i wonder if anyone else has learned how to handle an argument better after watching JM . when hubby gets me to be defending something-lol- i ask now - did i ask you that? yes or no!! hahah - the tone of voice the direct of JM . i have used it and i see a bit of more power~ thanks JM

Do you call your hubby Hotty Biscotti?

I don't like Willmott's demeanor. She is too prissy. I wouldn't be surprised if when the verdict is read she jumps up and says, 'your honor may we approach'. Can't wait for that moment. lol :great:

The trial I was a juror at we found the defendants guilty. After our verdict was read one of the defense lawyers got up and shouted; "You're honor this verdict is REPUGNANT!!"

Im new to WS, but not the trial. That would be something! Would love to have an up close and personal rooftop chat with any of the jurors Kathy could sweet talk into coming!!

:welcome:

I've heard people speculate that she is taking notes about the jury, and how they are reacting to the testimony.

Although, at times it does appear that she is drawing, not writing, based on her arm movements and how she uses the eraser.

Who knows... maybe she is writing:

All work and no play makes Jodi a dull girl
All work and no play makes Jodi a dull girl
All work and no play makes Jodi a dull girl....
