As a former MIT student I can confirm the police patch photo is in commemoration of the MIT officer who was shot and killed during the hunt for the boston marathon bombers. It was a common profile picture at that time for MIT students

I think it is quite possible, and maybe even most likely, that he INTENDED for her to be alive longer, but he killed her by mistake (don't get me wrong, I think that was his eventual goal, but he did it way faster than he planned)...

Read about this in the NYer and was captivated. I imagine at some point, if she's still alive, she must come out of her fugue?? Also interesting how the article portrayed the relative parents (I won't say more)
it's literally not possible. he wasn't brought to the US as a young child, he wasn't an upstanding educated citizen, etc. Not every young person in the US qualifies as a dreamer...
