The Hand County Sheriff’s Office and Hand County Emergency Management Facebook pages ask people with security cameras facing any road to check the footage for the truck. The license plate number is 38F459. They are especially interested in anything from Saturday night to the present.
The South Dakota Wing of the Civil Air Patrol is also searching. On their Facebook page, they say they are trying to spot the red pickup truck from the air. They’ve released their search pattern from this morning. It shows a grid pattern used in organized searches.
County-wide searches involving 4 planes, a helicopter, several drones, and volunteers on horseback and ATVs took place in both Hand and Hyde Counties Sunday. The Sheriff tells KELOLAND News that about a hundred volunteers showed up to help Monday morning.
