Well since he claimed he used it to smother her... most likely something completely different is what actually happened so you could be right on the mark.
 
According to this article , JVDS will be in general population sometime in August.
Funny that appears the time when Aruba officials are allowed to see him.
I have my own opinion on that delay. If JVDS does know where Natalee is, the Peruvians will have extracted that info by hook or by crook by August. They have already snubbed Aruba on various occasions. His laptop info will go the FBI and FBI will share with Aruba. They are/were not in a rush to communicate with Aruba.
Also I think Mr Ricardo Florez is on a mission. Outwards he is very gracious and reserved. Inside, he is very very angry at JVDS and Aruba and determined that JVDS will get what he deserves and then some IMO. I even read that he is lobbying to get LWOP added to the books, tailored to JVDS crime.
He already complained about the official charges(not enough) and other various remarks. We know he is rich but more important has powerful political connections in Peru. I also think he is to determined to shed light on the Natalee case and has the influence/manpower to do so.
All I can say, go for it Ricardo.

The lobby is where the desk are, the out side of his room is more of a hallway.

Good question. IIRC on various links I had read, she had won that money on 5/24. ????

Former inmates at the medieval-dungeon-like Castro Castro told "20/20" they have little access to water or food.

One former inmate, Willie Ruiz, who said he was falsely accused of being a terrorist, spent 5 1/2 years there.

"We were crowded into a cell and kept there for 23 1/2 hours a day," he said. "There was a hole in the ground that we used as a toilet. It was atrocious."

RadarOnline has also changed the text of the article re: the coffee cups.

The question is when was Stephany was killed and if Joran was trying to establish an alibi with the two coffee cups, or did he kill her after returning with the coffee cups."

Maybe insignificant, since it still states that he's seen leaving the room and returning with coffee...even though the 'returning' photos have been removed.

I kind of expected the 'coffe cup' text to have been deleted also.
 
I thought I was blind at first--I only saw the one pic of him with a cigarette and never saw any lobby shot of him going out--thanks for clarifying that it disappeared. Also, I am not seeing hardly any blood on her shoes. They look like they are blue & brown striped at least on my monitor--maybe I AM blind LOL.

I think the changing of the shirt is the significant part, since his white one was probably already soaked with blood. That, and the fake a$$ knocking attempt like he was locked out.

In a closed-door hearing, to be held June 21 at the Miguel Castro Castro maximum security prison where the suspect is being held, Van der Sloot will give his version of events to Judge Carlos Morales regarding the May 30 death of Stephany Flores, 21, found beaten to death in his Lima hotel room.


Van der Sloot, 22, is charged with first-degree murder in the case. He is also a prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of American Natalee Holloway, 18, who went missing after a night of drinking with him on the Caribbean island of Aruba.

You can't tell real well from the shirt photo but to me it does not look like there is any blood around the elbow area, one would think it he elbowed her, then there would be blood on one of the arms of the shirt, Of course knowing that JVS lies like a rug and I don't believe what he says happened that would explain the lack of blood in that area.

Patty, I have went back and viewed the photos again and it does look like the one of him walking into the lobby of the hotel in the stripped shirt with coffee cups has now disappeared hopefully it will show up again.

IMO, some of it to the taxi drivers that he paid off and who knew who he was.
That's why three Peruvians seem to be in a bit of trouble with the Peruvian legal system.

Patty G: Thank you, but I was not questioning the date, but whether the judge is going to Castro Castro to interrogate JVDS, or if JVDS is being brought to the judge. I had heard that JVDS would be brought to the judge in order to protect the judge's safety. The articles I have found all state the judge will go to the prison, but I remember hearing yesterday that the JVDS would be brought to the judge, instead, again for safety of the judge.

I could not find a source for where I heard that, but it was one of the reporters on tv (Jean Caesarez??) who said it yesterday. I haven't heard anything more, but the report given was that the interrogation would still be held on Monday, but the change was that JVDS would be taken from the prison to go to the judge. The reporter also discussed that there is concern that there may once again be a mob scene in the streets as he is being transported. It may have been Mike Galanos speaking with Jean Caesarez yesterday afternoon, but I checked HLN's website and could not find anything specific to that. Someone else had posted they wondered what precautions would be taken to protect the judge and my post was not meant to question the date of the interrogation, but to comment on what I heard as to where the interrogation would take place. The post re: the judge's safety made me remember what I heard yesterday, so I was trying to find a link to document that. So far, tho, I haven't found anything that discusses the judge's safety and transporting JVDS to the judge instead.

Since the blood was mainly on the collar and upper back of the shirt, I doubt that she was wearing it when he struck her. Clearly, I think this was the area held over her face when smothering her...unless this is the area of shirt he may have used to "clean up". JMO

She may have left an 'account' at the casino, or even transfered the money from there online to her account. The money to the cab drivers might have been all that he was able to take or maybe she wouldn't give him her PIN number or online acct numbers and that is what started the violence.
 
Looks like there really was a coffee trip.

Using only the camera at Joran's room. He leaves his room at 8:13 clearly comfortable as the door is partially open.

He returns at 8:25 with two coffee cups and then at 8:35 he starts to come out of his room with the two coffee cups. All in a matter of 10 minutes.

His final departure from the room is at 8:56.

DARN!!!
