OIL SPRINGS, Ky. (WYMT) - Their son says they went on vacation, but police say it looks suspicious.
Family says Larry and Sandara Blanton have not been heard from in two weeks, and police say they have reason to believe something bad happened to them.
Their son says it is unusual.
"It's not like them to leave. Anybody that knows my dad, he's not going to leave his farm and his animals for more than two or three days at a time," said William Blanton.
He says his parents left eight days ago saying they were going to Florida.
"I've never knowed them to take a vacation, and they said that's what they was going to do, was to get away," he said.
Police say that is not the story they have heard from other family members.
"Sandara's mother, she was concerned that she'd made several calls to the residence and didn't get an answer," said Sheriff Dwayne Price.
Those phone calls were two weeks ago, and Friday she decided to report it.
"Based on what I have seen in the investigation up to this point, it does look suspicious," said Price.
Now their son says he feels he is being targeted.
"It hasn't been real good. I've had people make accusations that I would do something to my parents. Anyone who knows us around here knows my mother's my best friend. I mean I've got pictures of her. It's been real hard," he said.
He says he is worried about his parents, and wants everyone to help keep an eye out.
"If anybody's seen them, please let us know something," he said.
Police say they are investigating by checking bank and cell phone records. They say the Blantons' cell phones have not been used since the fifth of this month.
Anyone with information about the Blantons should contact the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
