I have to say this. Every single picture of mom just doesn't look right to me. She looks as though she is just managing to supress a smile all the time. Maybe it just looks that way to me, but I think it's really unfortunate.

Is there any suggestion of evidence that the Algerian man had returned to France when Fiona went missing? I'm not sure how strict checks are between France and Algeria, but I would have thought there must be a passport record.

So mom says an Algerian exboyfriend/companion raped and kidnapped her last year, and his family didn't threaten her, but put pressure on her to withdraw the complaint. And she believes he may have something to do with Fiona's disappearance.

What the police have said is 'at this stage, there is no reason to doubt the word' of Mom.

I wonder why they haven't commented about the Algerian man, in relation to Fiona's disappearance.

Fiona's two and half year old daughter was interviewed by police in the presence of mom's boyfriend, not mom. I find that odd too.

Then again... the prosecutor is saying that the sole witness who has claimed to see Fiona with her mother at the park, did not really retract the statement as was reported last week but it's more accurate to say that the person is not really certain.

So far, mom has said she wouldn't be surprised if ex boyfriend had something to do with it (hasn't seen his daughter in a year and is now threatening legal action against mom?) and has brought up the man alleged to have raped her and threatened to kidnap her daughter a year before. Police are taking the idea of him as suspect 'very seriously'. Even though he's in Algeria and said he had nothing to do with it. The reason we know that is that although police say he's wanted and haven't been able to find him, a journalist didn't seem to have any problem in tracking him down for a comment, in days.

Meanwhile, the only thing mom has to say about current boyfriend is something vague about how supportive he is etc......and how he was the one who sat beside other toddler (18 months old) during the police interview, not mom.

Yeah. That would be the boyfriend with the record for assault, drugs, etc? Anyone happen to know where he was, around the time of this disappearance? Does he have a car? Does mom? Have any vehicles been checked?

I'm not putting much store in K9s tracking little Fiona to the park. I think her scent might well have been very intermingled with her mom and sister, especially if they went there everyday.

This is going to end very badly, I believe. That little girl needs to come home now and those SAR dogs should be out in that land on the outskirts of town, in my opinion. Looking for a site within an hour's drive, with a convenient place for a vehicle to do a U turn.
