Recovered/Located CT - Robert Hoagland, 50, Newtown, 28 Jul 2013

More on Lori "correcting" the police accounts.

The first reports from the Newtown Police Department indicated Robert was last seen at Newtown Mobil Station, but Lori has made sure local media have the updated information through a statement she wrote late last week. The details of the statement paint a nearly surreal picture.

Now remember she was out of the country, but now has the info on Robert's last sightings. She corrects the police accounts.

"I texted him a couple of times when I landed at JFK around 4:00 p.m., but never got a reply," she said in a statement.

At the time, Lori Hoagland was traveling home from a 17-day vacation in Turkey. She discovered her husband missing after he failed to pick her up at LaGuardia Airport the morning of July 29.

Two conflicting reports about the AIRPORT and the TIME OF DAY. Both accounts came directly from Lori. It isn't like the reporter got these items both wrong.

His wife and three children, and a large network of family friends and supporters, are anxious and mystified by the disappearance of the 50-year-old.

Although this sounds great....there is no evidence of this.

Most of the posts on the Facebook page are "sending prayers" and "hope he is safe" types of comments. Handbills/Facebook/Twitter were all created much too late and there is no mention of the children helping out or even coming home (except, Max who lives at home.)

There are different writers/editor for both articles, though, not the same writer/editor.

The STATEMENT she provided was a written statement that got forwarded to the media outlets. How could these errors have been made?

For those with missing loved ones, does this quote seem odd?

"We just need to know," she said. "We're hoping for the best, but we want some resolution and closure."

In My Opinion Only:
It reminds me of what family said about the Susan Jacobson case here on Websleuths:

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - CA CA - Susan Jacobson, 59, Sun City/Roseville, 2 May 2013 - #1

Snipped from Link Above on Websleuths:

"I just want her found - for her sake and for the family's, so that we can end this and move on (and grieve if need be)."

Susan went missing on May 1st, 2013 and this was posted on July 11, 2013.

Unfortunately errors happen frequently in the media. I haven't a clue if it was her error or the media's, but there were 2 different writers.
IMOO.

Again, this reminds me of the Susan Jacobson case, where she was so close to her family,(it was said), but yet she is rarely in the news and the family member who used to post on websleuths and the facebook page stopped posting.
IMOO.

yes, it could have happened, but the AIRPORT and the TIME OF DAY??? both of these were complete opposites...and I haven't seen any retractions.

I remember reading that also. One was in the washer, one was in the dryer. I just assumed they were done in loads with other laundry of the same color.

Yes, that is what I figured too...as well as "oh what a nice guy to do a couple of loads of clothes"...but then something started bothering me.....now I dont mean to generalize but most men I know if they do laundry, its a good day if they just seperate the whites from everything else. The ones that actually take the time to seperate lights, darks, whites, delicates etc, tend to carry that detail orientated behavior into the rest of their daily life. So if he is one of these detail orientated men...why would his dirty shoes that are
Probably grass stained at the least, be in the livingroom? am I making any sense? The lawnmower was put in its place, laundry in its place, wallet etc in its place...why wouldnt the dirty shoes be in their place? Like outside the front or back door, or in the garage, by the washer and dryer? I dont know, maybe I am just reaching, but this doesnt add up to me. Unless he is not detailed oriented and then his shoes would be anywhere, because someone else washed The clothes...... the wallet etc being under a doll in his own bedroom does not add up to me as a normal place as somewhere a man would normally keep these things. To me it says he was hiding them..why not just keep it in his pocket if he was concerned about someone getting into it? Unless he didnt have clothes on or was about to take them off to take a shower like someone else mentioned. What if after he hid his wallet, someone got to him as he was getting ready to jump in that shower, got blood on his clothes and proceded to wash them. I mean they had plenty of time before someone else got home right? I dont know...just something stuck in my head while I was trying to go to sleep so thought I would put it down as best I could in hopes someone else understands what my mind is trying to get at and can make more sense of it....

Robert, and Bob now, are both highlighted on this missing persons site. I found it through Robert's case and the admin was very helpful. In a way, it's almost as though one missing Robert managed to extend a helping hand to another.

I hope this missing Robert isn't lost as long as Bob. Robert needs to come home soon and his case won't go away until he does. There must be someone with information out there, I think. They should come forward now.

Born2succeed you make some great points. Especially about being detail oriented to do whites and color loads of laundry. I do believe he had different shoes that he mowed the lawn in, and they were with the mower. I will find the link.

Ah...finally found it. The shoe statement is on the Help Find page. It is in the description of what they know, the first post.

It says the sneakers he usually wears to mow the lawn are by the mower. As well as the laundry description.

Does RH's home have an attached garage - one that can be entered from the house? Or is the garage free-standing?
