GUILTY MI - Tanisha Colton, 27, Flint, 13 March 2013 *Arrest*

Heartbreaking. It always hits harder when it's your homestate. Flint is just getting worse and worse.

From the link above:

Police say the death is being treated as a homicide and a person is in custody related to the case but hasn't been charged.

Justice for Tanisha. Thoughts and prayers with her children.

Another body has been found, not far from where Ms. Colton's was found.

They say it may be related to a missing persons report and is a male in his 20s. I can't find any info on any young males gone missing recently in the area.

RIP Tanisha Colton, it saddens me that you were discarded like trash in the ditch. My heart goes out to her loved ones and to those of this as yet unidentified young man.

Today's news said she was killed in her sleep (suffocated) and her body put in the trunk of her car. The kids were put in the car and forced to drink Nyquil with sleeping pills (yucky green liquid they said) to make them sleep while the boyfriend drove the body to the place where he dumped it. He left the kids later at his mother's house, which she thought was unusual because the mom never let him have the kids alone or drive her car alone. He is charged with about 9 things and could get life in prison. Details are on MLive--Flint Journal.

What a vile person. He could easily have killed those kids as well giving them muck like that to drink.

Rest in Paradise Tanisha. <3

Three little ones with no mother, and he obviously didn't care about that.

From last year:

Flint activists plan vigil against domestic violence

http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2015/04/flint_activists_to_host_vigil.html

Community activists will host a candlelight vigil in remembrance of Tanisha Colton, a mother who was killed in 2013.

The vigil, sponsored by Flint YWCA, Building Stonger Woman Inc. and the MADE Institute, will focus on ways to tighten the Flint community and eradicate domestic violence.

Also:

Connor awaits trial on charges of first-degree murder, identity theft, two counts of unauthorized use of a transaction device, interference with electronic communications, three counts of fourth-degree child abuse and one count of improper removal of a dead body for the slaying of Tanisha Colton.

He could face life in prison if convicted.

I'm not sure if he has gone to trial yet.

Last month, Henry Conner made a plea agreement and he was supposed to be sentenced last week. Certain factors may prevent that plea from happening.

Man pleads to killing girlfriend after body found in ditch 100 miles away

A plea agreement has been reached for a Flint man accused of killing his girlfriend and driving her body at least 100 miles with her children in the car before leaving her in a drainage ditch near the Ohio border.

Henry Anthony Conner pleaded no contest Friday, June 10, to second-degree murder and first-degree criminal sexual conduct for the 2013 murder of Tanisha Colton.

A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but is treated as such during sentencing.

Leyton said numerous issues could have arisen during a potential trial in the case, particularly stemming from the fact the crime was committed in multiple counties and states.

Man accused of killing girlfriend stopped taking psych meds, lawyer says

A man who pleaded to killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in a ditch near the Ohio border may not be taking his psychiatric medication, according to his attorney.

Major White, the attorney for Henry Anthony Conner Jr., said Wednesday, July 6, that his client told him he has stopped taking his medication while in custody at the Genesee County Jail, and that issue needs to be investigated before a judge decides whether he can withdraw his plea.

Genesee Circuit Judge Archie L. Hayman adjourned the case Wednesday morning in order to give attorneys time to watch courtroom video footage of Conner's plea proceedings.

Hayman again adjourned the case Wednesday after White said he learned after Tuesday's hearing that Conner had stopped taking his medication.

White told Hayman he wanted to review jail medical records before proceeding with the plea issues.

Conner is scheduled to return to court July 25.
