Is there any indication at all of the hotel being a haven for those sorts of activities? I really don't know, things are moving too fast for me to catch up.

But homosexuality is highly taboo in most Latino countries, so I wondered if the "alternative lifestyle friendly" wording might be a euphemism for "gays welcome."

Why should the FBI be blamed? Why not Aruba? Joran has tormented Beth in so many ways that I am sure the FBI was trying to put a stop to his harrassment. Had Aruba investigated and arrested Joran when Natalee disappeared no one else would have lost their life.

Yes, that is exactly what it means - "alternative lifestyle friendly" is pretty much international code for "gays welcome".

The only thing I can think of is he drugged her diet coke and he took her pants off without her realizing it, orrrrr, it is hard for me to sleep in pajama bottoms/pants because I get so hot while sleeping.

My final guess is she was drugged and he took them off of her.

Well once he "reenacts" how he says it happened and they realize he is lying because it didn't happen how he says, they will charge him and give him the max. They are not fools in Peru and they don't take too kindly to being thought as such by Joran. I believe his intentions the entire time were to rob that poor girl but then something bad happened. :snooty:

Thanks for the info... as I said, I'm quite a bit behind here and trying to catch up (although I seem to be falling farther behind! LOL!). In any case, just so people know it isn't necessary for him to have physically been in any of the places the financial transactions occurred.

Also, I admit I never trust tabloid shows or newspapers, and Geraldo, Greta and Nancy Grace are all shows like that. While some stuff they report is true or turns out to be true a good bit of it is speculation or flat out made up. I also don't trust much of the foreign press on this issue since I have no way of knowing if those papers are considered legitimate news sources or if they're tabloid rags just as or even more ridiculous than the ones we have here in the US... and the Google tranlations seem to adding more confusion and misinformation then they are helping to find out what is really going on. Not to say it isn't fun to read and view every scrap of information from all sources (and I intend to seeing as I find the whole case just fascinating), I think questionable ones need to be taken with a very hefty grain of salt.

I very much appreciate any shows or news clips or whatever that can be viewed on the computer from you or anyone else here since I don't get cable tv, and unfortunately my tv isn't working at all at the moment for some reason I can't seem to identify... stupid converter box is a piece of junk.
 
As morbid as it sounds, she may not have died instantly with a broken neck and brain hemmorhage...she was probably barely breathing....and I can see this sick person probably taunting her and watching her suffer. The images and stories that he created about Natalie was all about suffering and no respect for life.

I got to thinking about the underclothing she had on and it occured to me that maybe she undressed to sleep thinking that she was safe in doing that....it reminds me of a camping trip I had with my two boys when they were very young. Our tent was next to a couple from Peru, a very intelligent and professional couple visiting and looking for work here in the states. Well, every morning at 6 am the wife would make coffee and cook bacon for her husband as he would be in the tent. The first morning the smell of the coffee and bacon perked me up wide awake...I poked my head out to see where the enticing smell was coming from and behold... a very well endowed topless woman was just cooking away, along with the hairy armpits and legs...thank God my boys were NOT early risers...I kindly asked her to be of my young kids while she enjoyed her morning ritual. Her response was that in Peru women are comfortable with their body image and it felt normal for her to be topless. It was not a sexual thing for them, just a custom.
Or were they just pulling my leg. LOL Very, very super nice folks.

Make me wonder if JVDS is perhaps bi-sexual and that is why he has so much hatred and disrespect for women.

The desciption of of the alternative lifestyle friendly is for gays/lesbians. And HE was the one who rented the room.

IIRC someone posted earlier that they rented rooms by the hour?? If that's the case, they would have some very interesting clientele.

They continued gambling online on Joran's laptop in his room. No sex, that would have happened shortly after they entered the room and there was no such evidence on Stephany.
Laptop was on when Joran went for coffee. If we ever see the video of that and he is wearing the same cloths, the murder had not occurred yet IMO.
Stephany got bored while waiting and started checking his personal stuff. By the time, she got to the scary stuff, he was already back and she had no time to escape. Maybe she did not believe the stuff and wanted to question him about it.
Another possibility is that he lost big time with the poker online and wanted her to cough up her credit card to finance more online gambling. She refused and he went into a rage. I do think Joran took her to his room to shake some money out of her, but not necessarily murder.
I do believe , she was murdered after he came back with coffee.
As to The Netherlands making some noises about the Peruvian treatment of Joran, well, kind of "the mouse that roared". Will have no effect of the case IMO.Just the necessary diplomatic customary BS to appease certain do-gooders in The Netherlands..

Thank goodness, a woman called in to Nancy Grace and asked that question! It was driving me crazy. :crazy: The response was that he was wearing the same clothing when he went to get coffee as he was wearing when they arrived at the hotel. The last time he left, alone, he had on different clothing.
 
Just because you may not entertain the idea of taking off your pants and sitting around in your undies with a 'new friend' does not mean others would not even think twice as they were yanking their drawers off and plopping down on the bed. To some ppl their undies have more material than their swim suits...especially if they are college aged...nope I have no problem with her taking them off and not giving it a second thought.
