FLINT, Mich. — "Nearly a day after his arrest in connection with a string of 18 stabbings in three states that left five people dead, an Israeli national suspected in the crimes remains a mystery, and possible motives in the attacks are unclear."

Looks like they have him in custody but I didn't see a more recent article.

Leno survived the attack, but would later lose his fight with cancer. He recently passed away in March. He had been battling prostate cancer at the time he was attacked...receiving chemotherapy treatments.

" I personally believe that the guy who stabbed him, essentially killed him in the sense that he couldn't get his treatment on time and that delay ended up killing him." Says Randy Lake.

So sad.

Nine potential jurors were questioned by a judge, prosecutors and defense attorneys in the jury selection for the trial of Elias Abuelazam, the accused serial slasher.

snip....The case is for Arnold Minor, who was walking home from his mother's house around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 2, 2010, on Saginaw Street near 12th Street, when he is believed to have been approached by a man asking for directions or help with his vehicle.

The Michigan Supreme Court has turned down an appeal from a man who was convicted of murder in a series of stabbings in the Flint area in 2010... the court says it's not persuaded to look at the case of Elias Abuelazam, who was convicted of killing Arnold Minor in Genesee County.

Abuelazam was charged with two more murders and six attempted murders. But the prosecutor plans no more trials because Abuelazam already has a life sentence...

Separately, Abuelazam is suing to try to get deported to a prison in Israel, his native country.

I haven't followed this thread, but saw this today:
Convicted killer Elias Abuelazam made the confession on Tuesday, revealing that he was the one who killed Jammie Lane in Leesburg in 2009.

[...]

Abuelazam decided to come clear about the unsolved slaying in exchange for immunity.

As a result, Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney Jim Plowman said he will not bring charges in Lane's death.

Details of the confession match the facts of the case, he said, but the case is not a strong one without the confession, which can't be used in court...

Jammie Lane

Jammie Lane was killed in his Leesburg home eight years ago. Shortly after, police acknowledged that they were investigating whether a former neighbor, Elias Abuelazam, was responsible.

Lane's death in March 2009 was the first in a series of stabbings that police attribute to Abuelazam. Prosecutors said a victim was stabbed in Indiana, and that more than a dozen were victimized in Michigan in 2010 in the few short months Abuelazam lived there. He is also a suspect in a stabbing in Ohio, and in his native Israel. He was arrested in Atlanta in August 2010 trying to return to Israel.

Lane's 2009 killing rattled his neighborhood. His daughter, Katherine Thompson, said her father "was like the mayor of Leesburg." He worked as a landscaper and lawn mower, and was familiar to neighbors driving his red truck around town, she said.

I didn't see a thread for Jammie Lane. Glad his family now has closure.

I can't help but speculate on what I've read this predator sounds like he's acting on a revenge impulse for some real or imagined transgression against him in his past it's almost like he rages inside and then it bubbles over causing him to lash out at the target of his obsession or maybe it's a sexual thing obviously masculine white male sexually attracted to dark skinned men so he acts out against them for making him feel vulnerable who knows for sure

Bumping thread up. What was the final disposition of this guy? Has he admitted to other attacks?
