Captain Judice of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says the FBI is investigating the trafficking angle. Thank goodness, and thank goodness for Tammy Charles who persists in her efforts to find Keiosha.

I just caught up on a lot of the cases I was following before my break and I see where Keiosha was put into NamUS and also submitted as a possible for the IUD Jane Doe smurfette. I notice Keiosha's info on NamUS doesn't mention that she has given birth. Wouldn't that be something important to list for the scientists checking her profile against victims? That would easily rule her out in some cases, I would think. But I'm not familiar with the process.

How do I live in New Orleans and I have NOT heard of this until now! In my opinion, it seems clear that this child was hurt and then hurt again to cover the reporting. Absolutely unforgivable that this is not all over for people to help ensure justice is served!!
 
The aunt, Patricia Andrus, was one of four people close to Keiosha’s case arrested last year. Others arrested include Andrus’ boyfriend, Leon Wilkerson,. He was accused of raping Keiosha and arrested on one count of rape and one count of second-degree kidnapping.

Judice said Wednesday that all four arrested last year were never formally charged and have been released from jail.

Judice said investigators are still following one lead, which involves a man at an AT&T outlet store on Louisiana Avenue in Lafayette. He said the man, who so far is unidentified, in some way used or knew the password to Keiosha’s smartphone.
“He is not a suspect in any criminal matter but may have some helpful information related to this case,” Judice said.
Anyone with information on Keiosha should contact the Lafayette Sheriff’s Office at 337-232-9211.

In short, the evidence was said to be weak, and lawyers for the four arrested made claims against the lead investigator alleging he violated the arrestees' consitutional rights.
 
Monday was Keiosha's 16th Birthday. :(

Volunteer organizer Tammy Charles believes the teen is still alive.“Until you bring me proof otherwise, I will believe she is out there somewhere and will not give up hope,” said Charles, who has been the most vocal in search efforts for the teen.

“Thinking anything else would be giving up. I refuse to give up.”
