Be sure to tune into cbs Atlanta news channel 46 at 11:00 eastern 10:00 central via internet if not local to watch this case get its first real exposure regarding this terrible missing/murder case. The police have done thier best not to solve this case due to possible police involvement in Stephen's death. Please watch tonight or tape it if you can. Atlanta news station 46 cbs.

Oh wow! I can't believe they said CODIS is only for criminals!!! My jaw dropped when I read that. The mishandling of this case is beyond obvious. Christine-I'm happy to see you and your friends are on this one! I hope you can find answers soon for Steve's Mom and family.

Stephen's exwife killed herself this morning in Baton Rouge,La. I am on my way there to be with Stephen's children and to help them in any way I can. It is so so sad, these children are left now with no parents. PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM AND MYSELF. SHERRON
 
How sad for the family. Are the kids grown? I read that Stephen was a grandfather so figured it must be one of his kids that became a parent. Regardless of their ages, they have neither a mother or father now. And they have lost both parents to violence. I think that suicide is a violent way to die anyway. Thinking of the kids and family.
 
I sent a request to the ME in AL for a comparison to Steve-the location and the state of the body fits some tips that have been received periodically regarding Steve's case over the last few years...

Sorry for the delay in posting- the ME got back to me right away.

He has a candidate he likes for the remains and they are attempting to process Mito DNA on a possible sibling. He said he will keep Steve's name in the file however if the match does not work out with his candidate.
 
ARGH-where the hell is this man?? Are there any locals who can tell us what the scuttlebutt is on this case? Where do people say he is?

Thanks dream-the poster reads like Sherron. I have spent some time on Steve and Clyde Stewarts disappearances and I am on the fence as to whether or not it has any relationship to the conviction of the former captain she references in her post. The story may ultimately be a simpler one; however I do believe that Steve left his home to go somewhere with a woman who has some pieces to this puzzle. I also believe that it is very likely that both Steve and Clyde's disappearances are tied together.

IIRC, the rumor is that Steve was killed at a party and Clyde witnessed the event and may have captured part of it on his cell phone.

Now, in my world I cannot imagine killing or hurting someone at a party and for 5 years no one spills the beans. Talk about witnesses, right? But my understanding is that the party was likely drug fueled and that people were not sure what they witnessed and what they might have dreamed up. Steve's mother has received numerous phone calls in the last 5 years, some malicious, indicating various versions of the events that led to Steve's disappearance. It is also true that her daughter is doing time for kidnapping and assault, I believe. It is related to Steve's disappearance in that IIRC Steve's sister tried to obtain information from someone she believed was involved in her brother's possible death. Her techniques led to her conviction.

I would love, love, love to see the files on this case. I would love to see where dogs have searched and what evidence has been collected and processed.
 
Has anyone aproached Datline NBC, 48 Hours, or PrimeTime Crime about this case? Maybe just the thought that a NATIONAL news network was going to do a story on this case and the supposed LE involvement and cover up they would get a clue and tell what they know... Heck, even Nancy Grace, Geraldo, or Greta may be interested.
