the lyon sisters get me too. It's one of those cases that has so many leads, every one of them leading to nothing solid. I would love to stick my head in that case file.
 
Angie Houseman, Abducted from St Ann, MO, 1992 (?) later found tortured, raped and murdered (St Charles County, MO). This case continues to haunt LE, years later.
 
So many, so very many, and we have only scratched the surface.
 
I know more than one LE officer that worked on the Houseman case and they vow, it one day, be solved.
 
The top missing people cases that haunt me (off the top of my head)...

Unfortunately, as strongly as we would like to think and believe there were more innocent days...They never existed.

The Grimes Sisters
The Coast Fiend
The Black Dahlia
Georgette Bauerdorf
All the dozens of murders that took place after Georgette and The Black Dahlia's murders-women were raped and killed in LA and they all seemed connected with those two
The Houston Servant Girl Murders-hardly anyone knows about this
The New Orleans Axe Murderer
Jack the Ripper-who was he
The Phantom Killer of Texarkana Case
The Kingsbury Run Killer
Amy Bradley
Evelyn Hartley
The Pajama Girl Australia Case-Who was this girl dumped on the road
The Two Little Princes in the Tower-What happened to the nephews of Richard II
The list goes on...
 
There are a couple cases that haunt me. At the top of the list would have to be The Springfield Three. I was a teenager when it happened, only a few years younger then Stacey and Suzie. Just the fact that they went missing hours after their graduation is heartbreaking. So young and so many oppertunities stolen. My others are the Lyon Sisters, Anna Winters, Jacob Wetterling, and Sharon Marshall.
