exactly what I was thinking.... I am interested to see how this is going to work.

You know their employees receive a tiny salary and the rest comes from passenger gratuities anyway. Most of them are from third world countries themselves and know about struggling to survive.

How come no one predicted this?

I am sure there will be many now stepping forward with bogus claims.

Good. Now maybe Tom Cruise can donate 150,000 cases of vitamins.
Too funny! But would he donate anything to the non believers?

People are already coming forward with claims that Nostradamus predicted this.

The thing is, it WAS predicted....by weather forecasters!!!! And numerous others knew it would happen SOME day. We didn't need psychics to predict or prevent this. N.O. got a major wake up call last year when Ivan just missed them, but nothing changed since then, despite that.

I could have predicted this 30 years ago and it wasn't an astrology factor but known facts. You don't have to be psychic to look at the obvious problems. You just have to be a politician to avoid them.

They were where they always are - making money off of gullible people.

I think we should use all the closed bases and the bases that are going to be closed soon before the ships. If every state took a % of the people we shoudl be able to handle them.

And with Australia donating $10 million to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Prime Minister Howard sending a small team of emergency management specialists to identify areas where Australian aid can be most effective

That is just a snippet and hopefully the whole transcript of our "Sunday" current affairs show will be posted at their site.
Yes its Sunday here in aussieland lol nearly 11am

What i wanted to say is that it has been mentioned here that the aussies are willing to help with the costs of housing the displaced people.
We did this for the Tsunami victims .We pledged 1 billion to Indonesia and we (aussie army, engineers etc) are still there helping with the rebuilding, homes hospitals, schools etc

So i have a feeling we will probably do the same for your people, well thats the vibe im getting from our news programs.

(AP) NEW ORLEANS - The last 300 refugees in the Superdome climbed aboard buses Saturday bound for new temporary shelter, leaving behind a darkened and stinking arena strewn with trash.

The sight of the last person — an elderly man wearing a Houston Rockets cap — prompted cheers from members of the Texas National Guard who were guarding the facility.

I agree about the bases. ShowerSinger said that and some of us wrote the news channels in support of her idea. The bases could be more long term housing. The cruise ships seem like a great idea too, but I worry about this being the peak of hurricane season already. But, any help is great, IMO. I'm proud of Americans, companies, other countries and everyone that's working their rearend off in any way during this time. So many people that have given their blood, sweat and tears will probably go unnoticed.

Thank God they are all out now and heading towards a place where there is food, water and safety.

DK, that gave me chills. Thanks for the info.

Forgot to add, praise the Lord that one part of this nightmare is over!!!!

Thank you - that's wonderful to hear!
