GUILTY OH - Summer Inman, 25, abducted & murdered, Logan, 22 March 2011

On Nancy Grace, a woman stated that both Summer and her mother in law were in abusive relationships where they had to do what they were told. No excuse to kill another person, just call the police. Argh....

Missing woman's body found after mother in law makes plea deal
Summer Inman's body was found in the septic system of a church near Nelsonville after her mother-in-law provided information last night where the body could be found, investigators said this morning.
Logan police descended on the Faith Tabernacle Church along Rt. 33 in Athens County at 8:50 p.m. yesterday after Sandra K. Inman spoke with her lawyer at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville, police said.
Hocking County Prosecutor Laina Fetherolf confirmed that authorities made a plea deal with Sandra Inman in exchange for disclosure of where Summer Inman's body was located. Fetherolf declined to provide details at a Logan press conference.

Logan mother was strangled
The Athens County coroner announced Wednesday that a 25-year-old woman who had been missing for a week was strangled to death.

I can’t blame the cops making a deal to get the info they need but it still makes me sick to my stomach to think that this woman will get some slap on the wrist sentence instead of what she deserves for participating in the abduction and murder of this beautiful young woman.

Didn't they say that the only thing they took off the table for the information was the DP? I hope that they did not offer a super great deal to her. I do understand that she was abused as well, but HOW in the world could she agree to help with this? The mother of her grandchildren! Did she NOT realize what this would do to the children?

she might not had a choice?????

Hi all....just logged into the computer and Summer being found was the main headline on our news site.

RIP Summer. I am disguisted at these people, suppose to be religious and they dump the mother of their children and grandchildren in a septic tank!!!! and not just any old septic tank but the churchs' septic tank. What a bunch of lowlifes. I am glad they are going to jail so that the children will not be bought up with people who have dishonoured their mother in such an awful way.

vent over......

We don't know enough background on the Inmans yet, but speaking hypothetically, she might have "agreed" only under duress. That could mean either physical duress, or mental duress (as a result of years of abuse, indoctrination, etc). Obviously these guys were capable of violence - we have a dead young mother to prove that. I'm sure Sandra knew what they were capable of. If she took off from Senior earlier, or if she tried to go against them in this plot, she very well may have ended up kidnapped or dead as well.

Anyway...it's all hypothetical until we know more. I hope for the sake of an easier trial, and for faster answers for Summer's family, that Sandra continues to find her voice, and spills everything she knows quickly. :sigh:

Wow, well that makes everything all right then.

What a senseless and tragic waste of a life, and those poor children, it's heartrending AND infuriating.

I think I’ll give myself a TO until tomorrow to calm down because if I hear right now that ‘SI’s a victim too’ I’ll end up getting banned.

It brings to mind Nancy Garrido, in the Jaycee Dugard case.

On the 6:00 p.m. WBNS-TV news tonight, WBNS had live team coverage from Akron, Logan, and Nelsonville during the first seven minutes of their newscast.

WBNS had a live report outside the courthouse in Logan and showed a video of the Inmans in court today. Sandra Inman was seen mouthing "I'm sorry" to Summer's family in the courtroom.

WBNS had a video of sheriff deputies escorting William A. Inman into the courthouse. On the video, a WBNS reporter asked the elder Inman if he killed Summer and the elder Inman replied that he didn't do it and that the police had the wrong person.

WBNS had a live report from Inman's house in Akron and showed a video interview of a neighbor who said the Inmans recently moved into that house and were rarely seen.

WBNS also had a live report from the church where the body was found and showed a video interview of the pastor of that church.

Here's the latest update from the WBNS-TV website.

Coroner: Logan Mother Was Strangled

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 5:00 PM
WBNS-10TV

NELSONVILLE, Ohio — The Athens County coroner announced Wednesday that a 25-year-old woman who had been missing for a week was strangled to death.

All three were arraigned on kidnapping charges on Wednesday afternoon and ordered to be held on $1 million bond each. They have not been charged in Summer Inman's death.

Outside the courtroom, William A. Inman denied any involvement in his daughter-in-law's death."I didn't do a thing to Summer," he said.

Akron police raided the home on Faye Road last week, and according to a search warrant, took guns, ammunition, a security officer's badge and walkie-talkies.

Neighbors said the Inmans began living in the house recently and were rarely seen outdoors.

The Crown Victoria (which was likely a former Police Car), the things BBM above, combined with the controlling behaviour we have heard about thus far in this case, make me seriously wonder about other crimes committed by these people.

What exactly were they up to? Was it for financial and/or perverse gains?

I do hope an investigation has been launched on this.

The swiftness of the Inmans actions against Summer, along with the "tools" they must have brought with them, including Pepper/Mace spray, zipties and a screwdriver, indicate planning and foresight.

LE was able to arrest the Inmans based on evidence gathered from their home, so, there must be evidence of planning there also.

My husband went to HS with the Aaron Miller, CofP Logan PD he says he's a good guy and he could see from the presser the toll it was having on him This is small town America these kinds of things are extremely rare. in that area some people still don't lock their doors. Please keep Chief Miller in you thoughts and prayers.

BBM.... very interesting when coupled with the fact they drove a white Crown Vic with a spotlight.

One article briefly mentioned that they may have recovered the original tires for the car. Very end of this story.
http://www.fox8.com/news/wjw-news-car-wash-missing-woman-story,0,2797817.story

Also since the car was an old police car, it's a common fact that most all police cars use just a few brands of tires, and one particular tire (Goodyear RSA) is most common, probably on 75% or more of all police cars. So if they see that tread pattern in that area, they likely would think of the ex-police car the trio was driving.

Also, investigators say they haven't found any tire marks on the church grounds that match the Inmans' white Ford Crown Victoria. The car has since been impounded by police.

http://www.abc6onyourside.com/shared/newsroom/top_stories/videos/wsyx_vid_10080.shtml

But they don't have the original tires, right?

So that means they dumped her body BEFORE they changed the tires?

So where was she while they were at the car wash with the original tires?

Or, that they didn't use the Crown Vic to do it?

Or that those weren't their tire tracks?

I was just sick when I heard about this on NG. I can't imagine what this poor lady must've been thinking when she was forced into that car. I'm glad they caught them and even more relieved there's a ton of evidence connecting them to this crime.

This is how close the Inmans' were to escaping.

According to Fetherolf, there was reason to believe the trio may have been attempting to flee the state when they were apprehended in Jackson Thursday.

“We’re happy with the court’s decision as to bond,” Fetherolf said following the hearings. “And we’ll continue to diligently pursue this case as well as any future charges that are filed based on the outcome of the investigation.”

While the mood inside the courtroom remained relatively mild during the arraignment of the son, gasps and sighs could be heard when the father, William, told Gerken his address was Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail instead of giving a home address.

Outside the courtroom after the hearings, Misty Vanpelt of Logan said she believed William was trying to be “smart,” and appeared rude and disrespectful.
