Family Searches for Missing Loved One

A northern Michigan family is searching for a loved one who hasn't been seen in nearly a week.

Family members say 31-year-old Jacob Cabinaw of Traverse City went missing Wednesday evening, March 31st.

They say he dropped off a friend that night and told him he had to go home to study for a test, but he hasn't been seen since.

Cabinaw's sister says it's unlike him to run off without telling anyone.

So I spoke with his girlfriend yesterday and he was out with his friend playing disc golf at Hickory hills (see link 1 below). Then he dropped his friend off at the open space (which is downtown TC) and then was supposed to be going home to study. She did check his cell phone records and he did make a call at 1AM to the VA to renew his GI Bill funding (you have to do it every month, on the first after midnight). So he was somewhere up till 1AM. I could be way off here, but from what I found it looks like Jacob was previously married REDACTED and divorced 1/09 (see link 2 below). He is also a member of the National Guard and will be considered AWOL as of this weekend. He does have a short record (see link 3). Not saying that ANY of these things have ABY thing to do with his disappearance, just trying to get as much info as possible to try to find this guy for his child.

I think they were done around 7:30pm.

And I dont think you are missing anything, I put the wrong year in...Sorry. I was just putting the information out there. I saw on his FB that he was in Bay City and dating, but all the other info I was finding had him married...and now divorced. Like I said earlier, just putting more information on the table.

If it's a debit card, they should also be looking at ATM machine videos as well. He could have been beaten up for the card. IMO
 
From what I know, the GF is fairly new. He is clean, no drug use. Did have a minor record but it was years ago. Had future plans to possibly go full time in the military. No one seems to think that he had any depression issues. I spoke with a family member.

He lives with his mother. The only connect he would have in TX is his brother who is stationed at Fort Hood

Well now, this is changes things from the earlier reports of S.A. and south.

Fort Worth and west to Sweetwater on I-20. Fort Hood is west of Killeen & sw of Waco for those tracking. That's really close to his brother. Interstate 20 goes all the way to California.
