Police are looking into reports that a missing Kelowna woman may have been going to meet a drug dealer around the time she disappeared last week.
Brittney Lee Irving, 24, was last seen by a family member on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at a motel in the 2600-block of Harvey Avenue. Police say she said she was going to the Rutland area to meet someone, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

RCMP continue to look for clues in the disappearance of a Kelowna woman... but they aren't having much luck.
Twenty-four year old Brittney Irving has been missing for over a week.
Irving was last seen by her brother on April 6th, a day before her abandoned Ford Explorer was found off Hwy 33 in the Joe Rich area.
Police say Irving had a connection to the drug trade.

Missing Kelowna woman's family clings to hope
Date: Saturday Apr. 17, 2010 6:17 PM PT
The brother of a Kelowna woman involved in the drug trade says she was preparing to make big changes in her life – and 11 days after her disappearance, he hopes those changes didn't come too late. But MacCulloch says when she was seen at the Days Inn, it was for at least one more drug deal.
"She thought she was going to make a little bit of money," he said, adding that she was "so excited about getting into rehab."
The only sign of Irving since her disappearance is her vehicle, a blue 2001 Ford Explorer. It was found off Philpott Road east of Kelowna the next day.
Just a few weeks ago, Irving was arrested when the RCMP raided a grow op at her home.

The Ford Explorer that Irving was driving was recovered around 7 p.m on Wednesday at a pull-out on Philpott Road just off Highway 33. Cops were tipped off to its location.
“We received information that it was there,” said Holmes. “I won’t go into it any further than that.”
He did say that the Explorer’s doors were locked, no keys were found, and there was “nothing inside to suggest any kind of foul play or struggle had taken place.”
That area has since been searched by a police dog and a helicopter, but to no avail.

From October 2013:
Brittney Irving’s brother blurted out “yes” and supporters of Joelon Verma began to sob after a jury found Verma guilty of first degree murder in the death of Irving three years ago.
The verdict Thursday afternoon came more than 48 hours after a Kelowna jury of six men and six women began deliberations and was followed by the imposition of the mandatory sentence for first degree murder – life without parole for 25 years...
During the trial, the jury heard that Irving, who was looking to make money to pay for legal fees after her grow operation was busted, teamed up with Verma for a large marijuana deal. On April 6, 2010, Irving had gathered up more than $100,000 worth of marijuana before Verma, who she was dating, took her to the bush outside Kelowna and shot her four times – twice in the back and then twice as she lay on the ground.
