Toyota says it will try to duplicate the test conducted by the magazine to see if it needs to take any action.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Consumer Reports has issued a safety warning on Toyota's 2010 Lexus GX 460 SUV because of an increased rollover risk during a turn.

The magazine says it uncovered the problem during routine tests, and is urging car shoppers not to buy the GX 460 until this problem has been remedied.

The special designation given to the GX 460 by Consumer Reports -- "Don't Buy: Safety Risk" -- is rarely given by the magazine. The last time it was used was in 2001, on the Mitsubishi Montero Limited.

"We're concerned with the results," said Toyota in a statement, adding that the company will try to duplicated Consumer Reports' test "to determine if appropriate steps need to taken."

Toyota suspends Lexus GX 460 sales
April 14, 2010 10:52 p.m. EDT

Tokyo, Japan (CNN) -- Toyota announced Thursday it has suspended worldwide sales of the Lexus GX 460 due to a reported risk of rollover.

Consumer Reports magazine warned readers on Tuesday not to buy the sport-utility vehicle because it could turn over in hard turns. Shortly after the magazine issued its warning, Toyota announced it was suspending sales of the luxury vehicle in the United States and Canada.

Toyota spokeswoman Mieko Iwasaki said Thursday that the company was expanding the suspension to the Middle East and Russia, the only other markets where it was sold.

Toyota is reeling right now. Yikes!!

I guess now's the time to get one. Must be willing to move them for next to nothing.
