Drug smuggler arrested in bestiality case in Wash.

"A convicted cocaine smuggler has been arrested for running what authorities say appears to be a bestiality farm in Washington state in which visitors could engage in all sorts of twisted sex acts with animals.
Douglas Spink was arrested at his ramshackle, heavily wooded compound near the Canadian border in Whatcom County along with a 51-year-old tourist from Great Britain who is accused of having sex with three dogs.

Dozens of dogs, horses and pet mice were seized, along with what investigators described as thousands of images of bestiality and apparent child *advertiser censored*. The mice were euthanized, said Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo, whose office assisted federal agents in the case....."

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh for heavens sake. I googled "bestiality websites" and can not believe the number of links that came up. That's vile. I'm no prude, but come on. That's illegal, no? Then again illegal or not is plain wrong and backward. Have your kinks, but when it comes to children and animals you need to be locked the he*l up. Stallions.net sgows up first in a google search and it's this guys. I am no way clicking on it, but you can see he lists Capone 1 on it. That's the stud he said was stolen. Sick, sick, sick man and sicker clients.
 
I don't even want to know where they put those poor mice...and I hate mice. I hope these animals can be rehabilitated and sent somewhere where they won't be abused. I'll be praying these sick freaks get some real prison time!
 
I thought I remembered this guy!! I checked, though, and didn't see a thread under his name. Wasn't there an arrest about a month ago about a man in WA arrested for producing child *advertiser censored* with a young girl? Connected?

Federal Way man charged with attempted child rape

A 50-year-old Federal Way man is accused of trading child *advertiser censored* for the chance to have sex with two girls and "train" them to have sex with dogs, according to charges filed this week.

King County prosecutors have charged Tilden Laverne Lester Jr. with second-degree attempted rape of a child and possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Lester, whom prosecutors consider "a danger to children," is being held in the King County Jail on $150,000 bail...."

Can we have the sanctimonious posters from Topix who ranted and raved with incredulity about the bestiality reported by the Mohler family victims please step forward? I'd really like to see what they have to say for themselves now. Cases like this and Dr. Bradley's video collection are horrid pieces of evidence which seem to be necessary for some people to actually believe that victims do not make these things up.

Many are dismissive about the ritual and satanic abuse "hysteria" of the 80s. Are we so absolutely positive that it truly was hysteria? Maybe now that we're finally encountering hard, cold evidence, some people's brains will pry open a teensy bit and they'll finally believe that human beings can do wicked things. It's a shame it has to be this way.

"....Authorities searched his [ETA; Spink's] farm Wednesday after prosecutors received a tip from a public defender's office in Tennessee. The office reported that Spink had been calling them incessantly about a jailed defendant in a bestiality case in Tennessee.

That man, James Michael Tait, had previously admitted filming a man having sex with a horse in Enumclaw, Wash., in 2005. The man Tait filmed died of internal injuries suffered during the incident. He received a minor sentence in the case because Washington had relatively weak bestiality laws at the time."



So, it seems as if the current investigation followed Spink's concern over the arrest of his buddy, Mr. Tait. Here's a link to the story of Mr. Tait, who filmed a man having sex with a horse. The man subsequently died from internal injuries.

So, if LE knew about this "farm" since 2005, why did it take so darned long to shut it down?
 
FWIW, Whatcom County, where the "farm" is located is right on the Canadian border. The town, Enumclaw, WA, where Tait was arrested for filming bestiality, which resulted in a man's death, is 70 miles east of Seattle. It sounds to me as if there are or have been a number of farms as there's an obvious link between Spink and Tait.

I also noted in the earlier article about Tait's sentence (which was light due to lack of appropriate laws against bestiality in WA), there is a statement that LE did not believe that money changed hands. That tells me that the currency was images. Being that the subject of child *advertiser censored* has come up in the current bust, my guess is that children have been involved for quite some time.

Here's the story of Mr. Tait's current charges in Tennessee. This is what led investigators to check our Spink, who kept trying to reach the prosecutors in Tennessee. Maybe he wanted to offer them a travel package if they'd let his friend off easy.

"A former Washington state man who was convicted of trespassing at an Enumclaw farm where a man was fatally injured while having sex with a horse in 2005 is accused of having sex with animals on a Tennessee farm.

James Tait, 58, was arrested and charged Thursday with three counts of felony animal cruelty in Maury County, Tenn. Kenny Thomason, 44, who lives with Tait, was charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty.

"They've been having sex with full-grown horses," Maury County Detective Terry Chandler said Monday. "He [Tait] has been here for four years and it looks like it has been going on for some time......."

"[Det.] Chandler said he's investigating whether the farm was being advertised as some sort of bestiality destination — just as happened in the Enumclaw case. Chandler said that detectives have recovered several videotapes of men having sex with animals on the farm.

So, an independent film was made about Tait and the man (named at this site) who died after the sexual encounter with the horse in Enumclaw, WA. Words fail me on this one. How did people sit through this film long enough to give it so many awards at Sundance and Cannes?

I used to love independent films but can't wrap my mind around this description:

Humanizing? Unusual?

I really feel that the ONLY way to stop this madness is to expose these "farms". Somehow I would think that many many farm visitors would be loathe to having their names in the paper. We've got to open our eyes!!
 
think the guy that died probably got his just desserts, but the guy that filmed it, that could be a felony murder charge imo.

I'd be very interested in everyone's reaction to this film. It is promoted as artful and sensitive. The words elegant, lyrical and beautiful are used. The trailer actually looks hazy and artsy.

I'm sorry but I do not understand this. Animals don't have free will to consent to sexual activity....or do they? We don't allow them free will in sterilization or euthanasia. I guess one could question how we have the right to sterilize them, breed them, vaccinate them, and euthanize them; why wouldn't we have the right to have sex with them? Oh Lord. It really really makes me sad.

If this film was so warmly welcomed and hailed, how many people actually participate in this activity and accept this as a norm, a sexual choice?

While I'm generally pretty accepting of alternative sexuality, bestiality totally squicks me out. However, I watched Zoo a few months ago (it was on Charter on demand for free, and I'd heard interesting reviews of it). It was...interesting, and I'd actually recommend it, I think*. For a film about really out-there sexuality, it has little actual sexual content. I thought it was fair. While it was sympathetic to 'zoophiles', it also addressed the issue of 'animals can't consent'. It was thought provoking (although zoophilia still squicks me out), and just all-around well put-together. Yes, it was very hazy and artsy throughout.

*I say "I think", because while I'd totally recommend it to my in-real-life friends, I recognize that my crowd is generally a pretty liberal one when it comes to alternative sexuality. I mean, we're all Dan Savage fans. I'm not sure that more conservative folks would find it a worthwhile film.
 
Thanks RLynne--I don't doubt that the film is thought provoking. I, too, am quite liberal and accepting of alternative sexuality (after all, I have a son who is very open about cross-dressing) but bestiality pushes me over the edge. In a way, I wish I could watch it but I just couldn't. I looked back over my posts today and I guess it's obvious that this is a hot-ticket item for me.

My life has been full of animals. They were incredibly therapeutic for our special needs children and are now my therapy as I struggle with my disability. I honor them and respect them. When I hear proponents of zoophilia discussing a "higher plane of loving connection" between animals and humans, I'm reminded of the dogma of NAMBLA. I just can't help it. I'm worried that films such as "Zoo" could destigmatize these actions.

I'm always on the look out for social problems and ways to "fix" them. I feel that WSers are the perfect candidates to write letters about this crime. Our state legislators need to know this is important to us.

I was very impressed that Tait's crime (assisting in the sexual encounter between the horse and the man which resulted in the man's death) was integral to Washington's laws being changed. Prior to 2005, there were no laws against this crime in that state. Now, the crime is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. That's more like it. It's sad that it took a death to bring about this change, however.

One thing that I keep coming back to, however, is the fact that money did not change hands and that child *advertiser censored* was found. I think this story will become much more ominous.

The site goes on to talk extensively about this farm's work with disadvantaged or foster children and rescue horses. I'm not quite sure why but this alarms me. I rarely see a non-profit or an organization specifically offer services to disadvantaged and/or foster children. I don't quite see how this links into booking expensive stud service for Exitpoint.

It might be totally legit, however, where did the child *advertiser censored* come from and why was no money supposedly changing hands? Am I just far too jaded?

This was cached on a site I checked out while trying to learn where Spink had bred and raised puppies in Oregon. He had a way of inserting himself into "polite" society. I wonder if he gets some sort of thrill out of deluding legitimate breeders and organizations?

Once again, the Portland suburb of Beaverton comes up. When I think of aberrant acts these days, I think of Blue Springs, MO and Beaverton, OR--both lovely family friendly towns. What a shame.
