SHERIDAN -- Sheridan County authorities have recovered a body from the Big Horn Mountains.

Sheridan County Sheriff Dave Hofmeier said Wednesday that deputies, a Park County canine handler and two cadaver dogs located the body on Monday after somebody reported it to authorities on Friday.

Hofmeier would not specify where the remains were found, the gender of the body or any possible cause of death.

He says the condition of the body could mean it will "take several weeks to identify the deceased individual."

Hofmeier says the Sheriff's Office is looking into missing person cases from surrounding areas. He doesn't plan to release more information until authorities identify the body and notify next of kin.

On April 16, 2010, the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office received information from an informant that he had been involved in transporting and burying a body in the Big Horn Mountains. Several days later on April 19, the Sheriff's Office assisted a K-9 Search and Recovery cadaver dog team, and located partial human remains in an undisclosed location in the Big Horn Mountains...

Christopher Husman had been reported as a missing person from Buffalo in October 2009.
