PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriffs Office has received numerous inquiries regarding the recovery of the skeletal remains of missing 5 year-old Haleigh Cummings. A rumor has spread throughout our community that her body has been located. This rumor is false, and this information has been vastly misreported and sensationalized by the media.

An investigative reporter claims detectives showed Misty Croslin bones they recovered from the crime scene along the St. Johns River in the case of Haleigh Cummings, who vanished from her home more than a year ago. According to Art Harris of The Bald Truth, police believe the bones could be the remains of Haleigh, who disappeared from her Satsuma home in February 2009.
