The body found last month along Interstate 394 in Minneapolis has been identified as that of a 19-year-old woman.
But the mystery isn't over as the cause and manner of Erica Rose Murphy's death were undetermined.
According to a paid death notice in Friday's Star Tribune, she had been missing since August, when she was 18. A visitation is planned at 4 p.m. Friday at O.E. Larson-Osborne Mortuary, 2301 Central Av. NE. in Minneapolis. Funeral services were set for Saturday in Hayward, Wis.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office listed no permanent address for Murphy, identifying her as an American Indian.
When Minnesota Department of Transportation workers found her body on April 28 along the eastbound lanes between Penn Avenue and Dunwoody Boulevard, police had said it appeared to have been there for a long time. Minneapolis homicide investigators were called to the scene.
On Thursday night, police spokesman Sgt. William Palmer had no further information on the status of the investigation in Murphy's death.
