PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -
Iberville Parish Sheriff's Detectives said a man with a long history with the law went on a brutal crime spree in a small town Thursday night. Deputies said all three victims identified the same attacker.
A couple in their 50s
were his first victims in a small Iberville Parish town. Major Johnny Blanchard said a man victims identified as Stevenson Lee Marshall
knocked on the front door of their River Road home, asking for help with his truck.
"The gentleman walked out to assist him with his truck and he attacked him," said Major Johnny Blanchard.
Blanchard said the man was able to call police, but not before the suspect went inside his house and attacked his wife.
Detectives said the scene was so bloody investigators went back to the home Friday to continue collecting evidence.
"There were several objects laying around," said Blanchard. "State Police is working to see what has blood and what doesn't."
When detectives arrived at the couple's home they learned a teenage girl
who lived not even a block away was tied up, raped and beaten
"He contacted her and told her he needed help with something and to come with him," said Blanchard. "She knew him, so she didn't suspect anything."
A detective patrolling River Road, found the 14-year-old girl
less than an hour later. She was bound, near the levee. A broken down vehicle registered to Marshall was parked behind the Dow Chemical plant.
"We need to find this guy before he attacks someone else," stressed Major Blanchard. "Because there was no reason for it and the severity of the beatings."
Marshall has a long rap sheet, including charges of carjacking and domestic violence.
All three victims are in the hospital. If you know where Stevenson Marshall is, call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
