Two Long Island teens were busted for planning a Columbine-like plot to bomb a school and gun down students and faculty, Suffolk County police said Friday.
Christopher Franko, 17, and his 16-year-old gal pal Dana Saltzman planned to carry out the bloodbath at Franko's former school, Connetquot High School in Bohemia, on June 10, cops said.

Thank goodness that Franko's social worker sensed something was in the works and notified police. Many deaths were prevented and lives saved by the actions of that one person. Kudos to the social worker!

Snipped from Cops: 2 Teens Planned Connetquot High School Killing Spree, regarding possible motive.
“Franko’s social worker alerted police that Christopher… and Dana Saltzman were possibly conspiring to do harm to students,” said Sgt. Bill Doherty of the Fifth Precinct Crime Section. Doherty said Franko was allegedly set off when “unkind comments” on a Facebook were made under his name on a memorial page for two Connetquot High School students who had been killed in a car crash. It was unclear if the comments were actually made by Franko, he added.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy at Suffolk County Court in Long Island, New York yesterday, and Judge Stephen Braslow sentenced him to three- to nine-years in prison.
Franko had tried to buy a shotgun, enlisted the help of others to buy firearms and penned a diagram of the high school, the prosecution said.
He also searched Google to find out where to purchase gunpowder and how to make a pipe and chlorine bomb...
Three years previous to his latest arrest Franko was also charged, when only 15-years old, accused of plotting a similar attack on the same high school.
In that case, which was hear in a Family Court, he was deemed a youthful offender and the documents have been sealed.
Following that case, he had been assigned a social worker, who alerted police to the second alleged plot.

Dana Saltzman, of Commack, pleaded guilty to conspiracy on Wednesday. She is to be sentenced May 4, when she’s expected to get five years’ probation.
The 17-year-old was released without bail. She was not a student at the targeted Connetquot High School last June.
