This is horribly disturbing. It's beyond me why this animal was on the street.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with child rape less than three weeks after being released from jail for his first-degree child molestation conviction.

When the man, Malik Dray Calhoun, allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl last month, he was enrolled in sexual-deviancy treatment as part of an alternative sentence.

Senior Deputy Prosecutor Cecelia Gregson wrote in court documents that even under stringent conditions of supervision and maximum treatment, Calhoun is unable to control his sexual deviancy.

Between Feb. 1, 2009, and July 19, 2009, Calhoun molested a 6-year-old relative at least twice. Court documents give disturbing details about how Calhoun, then 17, molested the child while he was trusted as the child's babysitter.

He pleaded guilty on March 16 under the special sentencing alternative. Jail records show he was out of custody April 9.

Police said he led the girl by the arm to a bush near the sidewalk while she protested that she had to get to school.

He then exposed himself and sexually assaulted her, according to charging documents.

Calhoun was arrested May 5 at his school and charged Monday with third-degree child rape. He claimed he had consensual sex with the girl and that she told him she was 17, according to police.
