The body of Matthew C. Martin, 31, of the 1300-block of Haubert Street in Baltimore, was discovered in Patapsco State Park by someone who was looking for a place to fish and spotted an elbow protruding from the dirt, police said.

Martin had been reported missing by his mother on April 9, police said.

After authorities were called, the body was unearthed from a shallow grave in woods near the 1200 block of River Road in the Linthicum Heights area, police said.

The body showed signs of trauma, but details were not available. No identification was found.

It was unclear how long the body had been there, police said.

    From June 2010:

Police arrested Christopher S. Calvert, 31, of the 1300 block of Richardson St., about 2 a.m. They had received a tip about an hour earlier that Calvert was in the 1600 block of Cypress St., which is where officers from the city and the Maryland State Police Apprehension Team arrested him.

On Friday, police charged Calvert and Kevin M. Skipper, 30, of the 500 block of E. Fort Ave., in the death of 31-year-old Matthew C. Martin.
    From October 2010:

A grand jury indicted Jeremy Michael Smith, 24, of the 1500 block of Covington St., on charges of accessory after the fact in the killing of Matthew Martin, 31, who went missing on April 9. Fishermen fishing at the Patapsco State Park discovered his body. Two men, Christopher Calvert and Kevin Skipper, were indicted on July 1 in the murder.

Prosecutors said that Smith picked up Calvert at a house on Fort Avenue and went to a Lowe's hardware store to purchase a large plastic storage container that they used to take Martin's body out of the house on Richardson St. in Locust Point. Smith allegedly helped Calvert dispose of the body, prosecutors said.
