ZEPHYRHILLS - The man who wrote many of the popular "Thundercats'' animated cartoons of the early 1980s is missing from his Zephyrhills home in an unusual – and possibly grisly - case.

Police would say only that comics artist Stephen J. Perry, 56, James Davis, 46, and Roxanne Davis, 49, vanished from the house they shared on 38046 Eighth Ave. and that the home appears to have been ransacked.

Not sure if this will help, but I found a site where they say this poor man has a Paypal account set up by a "friend" if anyone cares to donate.

Sad enough this poor man is suffering let alone go through trauma. I pray they find him alive, and he gets proper care.

    Roomies found and arrested

    Sorry for the double post.

Both the Davises have been found and have been arrested on priors.

    That doesn't look good.

    More at link.

Capt. Robert McKinney of the Zephyrhills Police Department said James and Roxanne Davis are people of interest in the disappearance — and possible murder — of Perry.

McKinney said only one human body part has been found and would not say what type or if it was Perry's.

McKinney said the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is analyzing the body part and other evidence. He hopes to have results next week.

    Cops: Missing 'Thundercats' writer murdered

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Police in a town near Tampa say a missing former writer for the 1980s cartoon series "Thundercats" was killed.

Stephen Perry’s van was found abandoned at a Tampa hotel May 16, with a severed body part nearby. The Zephyrhills mayor has said it was an arm, but police declined to provide details — including whether Perry’s body has been found or why they declared him a homicide victim Thursday.

Perry’s home was found ransacked and two roommates were also missing. They have since been arrested on unrelated charges but called “persons of interest.”

Perry’s wrote for numerous comics and scripted the “Silverhawks” cartoon. But friends say he never made much money. He was recently broke and had trouble finding health care for his potentially fatal bladder cancer.

ZEPHYRHILLS - The sign outside Harry's Food Mart explains the long line inside. It sign tells customers a winning lottery ticket was purchased at Harry's in mid-May worth $10 million.
Zephyrhills police are saying nothing about their detectives visit to Patel's store. In an e-mailed news release, Captain Robert McKinney said, "...we are still waiting on lab results on evidentiary items. At this time there is no updated information..."

A torso from the same man, comic book writer Stephen J. Perry, found in Wesley Chapel.

And Perry's former roommate, James "Jimmy" Davis, charged Wednesday with first degree murder in connection with the grisly slaying.

Police said the body part found in the trash container was Perry's right arm.
