No name as of yet on the mother who left her three year old in a locked car for eight hours, yes that's a 8 while she gambled away and enjoyed cocktails.

LE found a little boy in a car with the windows up and doors locked in the hot sun.Video showed Gambling mama enter at 4:00AM the casino floor. Thank goodness 8 hours later and Officer heard him crying. He was in filthy souiled clothing and had sour milk. Dang stuff may have been cheese by that time.

*********Kicker: Mama said she don't see what the big deal is. Heck, she checked on him a few times. YAY, momster. She reiteratted she didn't think it was a problem**************

Oregon. Glad it wasn't further south. It could have ended so much worse. She's got to be addicted to gambling. JMO

Valerie Tran Leaves Her 3-Year-Old Son in the Car for More Than Eight Hours so She Can GambleBy Caleb Hannan, Thursday, May. 27 2010

Valerie Tran may be the only person in the world who doesn't understand the concept of a babysitter.

Cops say the 32-year-old Clackamas, Oregon mom drove up with her three-year-old son to Chips Palace and Restaurant Casino in Lakewood at the frightfully-early hour of 4 a.m. Instead of dropping the tyke off at daycare, however, Tran decided he'd be best served spending the day locked inside her Lincoln Navigator.

Around 1:30 p.m., nearly eight hours later, a casino security guard overheard a child crying. Inside he found Tran's son with a soiled diaper and only a cup of spoiled milk to sustain him.

The SUV's windows were rolled all the way up. And despite the relatively cool air outside, the temperature inside the vehicle was 85 degrees and climbing.

It took two calls over the casino intercom for Tran to walk away from the tables, cash her chips and attend to her kid. When she went outside she was incredulous. And drunk.

"Why is this such a big deal?" she asked.

Omg thank heavens the security guard heard the cries!!!!
What a pos she is, she needs to be locked up and never have control over the child again.
At first I thought this was going to be a case of a forgotten child left in a car, but she knew she was leaving him!!!
She has money to gamble with, she's driving an expensive car, yet she can not pay a babysitter? Lock her up in a car with sour milk, with no access to a bathroom and let the sun beat down on her, I wonder how well she'd like it?

Just because you want to be with somebody does not mean they will take care of your children.

Unfortunately, she will probably do a few parenting classes and they will give the kid back, so she can take another shot at killing it.

I'll never forget going to the mall one time....seeing a dog in a car on a very hot day...going into the mall hoping it was just for a second...come back out and the dog is still there. I waited by that persons care with my cell phone out...she took a very long time to come back and I was just about to dial 911. As she walked up (finally) I asked her if that was her car and dog. She said yes. She looked at me and said, "What are you doing?" I said, "I was waiting to make sure your dog didn't die of heat" and she said "Oh, no, he's fine, I left a window cracked". GOD. I just turned around and walked away.

    I couldn't handle that attitude.

"Why is this such a big deal?" she asked.

Just wow. This selfish, self centered, self absorbed "person" is beyond me.

If the punishement were to fit the crime she should be locked in a small metal box for 8 hours with the sun beating down, in her own soiled clothing with only a glass of soured milk to keep her company. I doubt that would be her statement then.

Of course the punishment won't fit the crime. She will more than likely be assigned parenting courses and get probation. So discouraging. Cases like this make this little tree-hugger want to do serious bodily harm.
