OK Websleuths Members. Here is a chance to help out with a missing person.

We need people to help out in all kinds of ways for a search coming up this Friday and Saturday in Philadelphia Mississippi (yes there is a Philadelphia Mississippi).

Here is the press release:

CONTACT: Brad Dennis
Director of Search Operations
415-331-6867 or cell 850-525-4807

For Immediate Release
DESPERATE SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN GERRY MANLEY

Philadelphia,Ms. 24 year-old Gerry (pronounced “Gary”) Manley of Meridian, has not been seen since the night of February 12th, inside the Philadelphia Wal-Mart. An hour earlier Manley called his girlfriend for a ride but for an unknown reason he abruptly hung up the phone. “It's like he literally vanished,” said Dale Sims, Manley's mother.

Despite several searches by law enforcement, Gerry is still missing. Gerry’s mother has called on the national non-profit organization, the KlaasKIDS Foundation, to organize a community volunteer search.

Brad Dennis, Director of Search Operations for the KlaasKIDS Foundation said they will be establishing a community volunteer search center at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville located at 9241 Hwy 19N in Collinsville, Ms. Individuals who would like to participate in the search for Gerry should check in at the search center between the hours of 9 am and 4:30 pm on Friday, June 18th and 8am to 12:00pm on Saturday, June 19th.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and bring photo identification. “Dress appropriately for the weather, wear long pants and sturdy, covered toe shoes. We need people who can do foot searches as well as individuals who are willing to work in the search center” explained Dennis.

For more information about the search or information on how you can donate supplies, volunteers can call KlaasKIDS Foundation at (850) 525-4807.

The KlaasKIDS Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization determined to stop crimes against children and assists families of missing children. Please visit www.klaaskids.org for more information. ###

Here is the thread on Gerry's (Pronounced "Gary") Manley's disappearance.
MS MS - Gerry Manley - 24 years old - Meridian - 12 Feb 2010 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

OK my friends this is our chance to really help someone who has not received very much media attention.

Gerry's mother is a sweetheart who is so desperate for any help in finding her son.

We have seen cases like this before. Cases where missing people slip through the cracks of LE and of the media due to several elements.

Let's show Gerry's mom that we care. If can help show up at the search center or if you can help in other ways like getting people to donate food and water, anything you can do to help give Brad Dennis a call. His number is at the top of the press release.

Thank you,
Tricia Griffith

To Gerry's mom,

I live too far to join the search physically, but am praying he is found! :praying:

To Gerry's mom-

I am also too far to be able to participate in the search, but if there are letters I can write or media I can contact please let me know. Praying your boy is found soon.

Do we have a another photo of Gerry?

Wow, wish I would've known about this sooner. It's just up the road but I've already made plans for the weekend that can't be cancelled. Please keep us updated.

And why haven't I already heard about this case????

Marion, I am also just up the road(hour and a half), and haven't heard anything about this case! I would love to help, but am leaving to go out of state for surgery tomorrow and another one in July. Hopefully, I can help later if needed. We used to visit SilverStar(casino) quite often, but not much in the last few years. This is strange, as I know Philadelphia is small town, but does get a lot of traffic from the casino! Been to that Walmart many times!
I will be watching for any updates! Gerry's family is in my prayers.

Guys, please get the word out to your friends who can help. If you know anyone in the local media give them the press release in the first post.

Call Brad if you can help with donations. His number is right in the press release.

Even if you don't live close by they need help with all kinds of things.

Don't hesitate for one moment to call and offer to help.

You will have to ask the Sheriff and the local media why this case has not received any attention. I don't have the answer.

bump and bump again

Don't know the case at all, but do they need dogs? I understand Brad usually has that covered. We've heard nothing about this case whatsoever.

My prayers go out to Gerry and his family. And, to all the volunteers that can help in the search.

This is in my tri-state area, as I live in Memphis, TN and our local news regularly reports on occurances well in the range of Meridian, MS. Even though it may not be in our direct area it is still seen as a neighboring area that many of us have relatives and close family friends in that area, therefore it is DEFINITELY seen as news of importance viewers of all our our main news broadcasting stations. I emailed the press release about Gerry Manley to all 3 of the major news agencies along with a copy to our Commercial Appeal newspaper. I also followed up by calling and voicing the importance of this press release being broadcast tonight and printed in tomorrows newspaper. Hopefully this will make a difference and help bring this guy home safely to his many loved ones.
My prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family and friends. Let me know if there is any other way that I can help!

Prayers for Gerry, his family, LE and the searchers. If I lived anywhere nearby I would gladly come help search.

I'm in Canada but have shared this on my FB. Will be thinking of Gerry and his family.

I pray that Gerry is found. My heartfelt sympathies to his family. What are the known facts in this case?
