Hi fellow websleuthers!
(I never thought this post was the one to get me out of 'lurkdom')
I live in Quebec and felt it too. Our local radio station (98.5FM) just announced that it was a 5.7 magnitude earthquake centered about 5km from a town called Buckingham.

Be prepared, there might be some aftershocks.

Good to see you post, westislander!

Check in all you upper East Coast and Canadian members...we need to know you're alright. :blowkiss:

I live in NY...downstate a bit from Albany and we didn't feel anything here.

It's all good here in Western NY - across the pond from Toronto...
Prayers for my CA neighbors.

:)

I just read on another blog, that Ohio had a quake. Could it be the same one, or is it different?

<snipped>
A Canada earthquake shook Toronto and Ottawa at approximately 1:45 p.m. Eastern Time today, June 23, 2010. The USGS reports the quake had a magnitude of 5.5
The quake was also felt by some as far away as Boston, Cleveland and Chicago.

This is a developing story

You must be near me. I thought my old farmhouse near Webster NY
was falling apart.
Cat's still under the bed!

My son lives in San Francisco - in6 years, he never felt anything. lol

I live in Rochester, NY and it shook us. My daughter is a therapist at Strong Hospital and she texted that they felt it there and it scared them all. I read that the shaking lasted about 10 seconds, a long time when you don't know what's happening!

I also read it was felt in Buffalo, about an hour West of Rochester.

Felt it here on the Canada-US border. 5.5 magnitude.

It's funny, as I was in the house all by myself and everything was rumbling and shaking. My sweetie came in after it was over. He was out in the front yard and didn't notice a thing.

He tried to tell me it was the neighbors car. lol

Saratoga Springs NY, we we're rocking and rolling.

Is that area a place that normally gets quakes? Has there been any reports of any damage. Nothing on Fox news about it yet. Too much other stuff going on I guess.

I live in north-suburban Detroit and didn't feel anything. Local TV stations are on live with reports from folks in the area who felt the shaker.
