UPDATED: Ellensburg man, 54, reported missing
Posted: Friday, June 25, 2010 5:12 pm | Updated: 10:39 am, Mon Jun 28, 2010.

The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible missing person case in the Ellensburg area, according to a news release.

Russell Lynn Ray, 54, was last seen at his Ellensburg area residence at about 10:20 p.m. Monday, the release said. He is 5-feet, 11-inches tall and approximately 185 pounds. He has blue eyes, short light brown hair and a medium-length trimmed moustache. He speaks with an Oklahoma accent.

He may have been wearing red gym shorts with white trim and dark athletic-style shoes. No vehicles are missing from his residence.

Ray has not been seen or heard from by friends and relatives since Monday evening. Family and friends told law enforcement officials that it is out of character for Ray not to be in contact with family and friends.

If anyone has seen or has information on the location of Ray, they are asked to contact the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office at 509-925-8534.

This is the cousin to one of my long time co workers. She is very concerned, and leaving on his own would not be in his character.

If you are in the area please help search.

Thank you

ELLENSBURG—Orange cones and yellow crime tape surrounded the home of Russell Lynn Ray Monday evening, marking the seventh day since anyone has seen the missing Ellensburg man.

A search and rescue team of 14 volunteers scoured neighboring properties for Ray Monday night. The search came up empty.

The volunteers searched through horse and goat pastures, creek beds, tall grass and neighbors' ponds during the two-hour search.

Ray, 54, was reported missing Thursday after his wife and daughter returned home from out of town.

He was last seen the evening of June 21 at his Look Road home, according to Kittitas County Sheriff's investigators.

Officials said Ray's vehicle broke down near Snoqualmie Pass on his way home from work. Ray called for assistance and was picked up by a local towing company employee.

Ray was dropped off at his home at 10 p.m., June 21. His truck was taken back to the towing company.

Ray never came back to get his truck. His other vehicle is still at his home. No one has seen Ray since.

ELLENSBURG, Wash.- Christine Ray retraced her husband's steps and tried to figure out what happened to him. Russel Ray disappeared one week ago and since then his family has not been the same.

"He'd never do this to us, we keep thinking that there has to be something, some explanation, that he will return but a weeks a long time, it's too long to not have hear anything," said Christine Ray.

Russel's wife and daughter were out of town for a wedding last week while he stayed home.

The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office suspects foul play in the disappearance of an Ellensburg man in June, authorities said.

The search continues for Russel Ray, 54, who was last seen on June 21 at his Look Road home.

No suspects have been identified. Kittitas County Undersheriff Clayton Myers said the sheriff's office hasn't uncovered anything that has led to his location, but evidence found outside Ray's residence gives investigators reason to suspect foul play.

3 search warrants have been issued.

Hopefully new information will come soon.

RIP Russel...

I hope that now you get the justice you deserve.

Trial begins next week, I pray justice for Russel is served.
