Gillibrand was last seen at 9:30 a.m. June 8 at her home near rural Meta, Mo., about 14 miles south of Jefferson City. Some personal items were found that day in a Dumpster at an apartment complex in Rolla, about 30 miles southeast of Meta.

She last was seen wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans. A native of Romania, Gillibrand is fluent in English, Romanian and Hungarian.

Anyone with information is asked to call Strope at 573-422-3382.

Deer hunter finds remains in mid-Missouri

A central Missouri sheriff says a deer hunter has found human remains not far from the home of a woman who's missing and presumed dead.

KRCG-TV reports investigators were processing the scene Tuesday in the Meta (MEE'-duh) area. An autopsy was planned.

Maries (MAYR'-eez) County Sheriff Chris Heitman says he believes there's a good chance the remains are those of Kinga Gillibrand, who was 35 when she disappeared in June.
