"LOUDON, N.H. -- Authorities are searching for a missing Massachusetts man who was last seen on Friday before police believe he headed to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the weekend NASCAR races.

Police said Michael "Mickey" Brougham, 54, of Belchertown, Mass., was last seen on Friday at about 2 p.m."

This is my first attempt to start a post, so I hope I did it right.

Brougham’s wallet with credit cards and identification card still in it was found outside the main gate at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, and his cell phone was used somewhere near there Sunday, Fox said.

Brougham, who is known as Mickey, had told people he might be going to the NASCAR race in Loudon last weekend, Fox said, but his truck and motorcycle were left at home, so if he went there it was with someone else.

I have read that there is speculation by the family / someone in the family as to whether Mr. Broughman was ever really at the race track in Loudon, NH.

I know that there was a large search at the track area using professional searchers. But does anyone know if scent specific dogs were used where Mr. Broughman's wallet was found to ascertain whether or not he was actually at the race track? A trained scent specific trailing dog should be able to confirm or negate that Mr. Broughman was ever there by taking a trail or giving a negative indication of the presence of his scent.

It seemed, reading between the lines on the local news, that the family always were somewhat skeptical that he made it to the racetrack. They said he was probably going there and of course his wallet was there, but something about the way the family was phrasing things made me think they were doubtful.

Yeah, I agree.

One month later there's still no sign of Mickey Brougham. His face and description is posted all around his hometown of Belchertown. Police continue to chase every lead.

"It's kind of disturbing, no one has seen him, no one has talked to him, but we're trying to locate anyone from the community who may have seen him," said Belchertown Chief of police Francis Fox.

On the 40th day since Michael R. “Mickey” Brougham disappeared, his family Wednesday doubled to $10,000 the reward for information leading to finding him and urged people to come forward with anything that would help.

“It has been six weeks since our brother and our son has been gone. It is a long six weeks. We continue to feel, strongly, as do most people in town, that somebody knows something,” his sister, Cindy Brown, said.

I was actually coming on here to see if there was a thread about Mickey already. This happened in my hometown. From what I've gathered I believe they are leaning towards the theory that he never actually left town. Or at least not to NH. This one is going to eat at me.

"BELCHERTOWN, Mass. -- Police have begun searching an area of Belchertown for Michael "Mickey" Brougham.

Belchertown Police Chief Francis Fox, Jr. tells abc40 and FOX 6 that Mass. State Police will be conducting an aerial search for Brougham, off of George Hannum Street, near the highway department.

Brougham was last seen exactly six weeks ago today, after he told relatives he was going to the NASCAR race at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, NH.

abc40 and FOX 6 News will have the latest on this story, on-air and online."

A new search has been organized for Michael "Mickey" Brougham, the 54-year-old from Belchertown, Mass., who was declared missing three months ago after a NASCAR race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The weekend of Oct. 1-3, volunteer search-and-rescue crews from across New England will accompany private investigators and local and state authorities to comb about 1.3 miles of wooded area near the Loudon speedway to look for Brougham's body.

Does anyone know if New Hampshire Raceway has been contacted to find out if some sort of mailing to ticket holders could be done with Mickey's information. Also, has NASCAR been contacted? I would think that with their vast resources they could aid in getting the information out there.

That is a really good idea, as in how Metalicca helped spread the word about Morgan Harrington being missing from a concert...although if he never went there, they might not be of much use...
