This is a triple homocide that occured last month in Amity. I checked and can't find that we had it posted.

Thayne Ormsby was arrested in the murder of Jeffrey Ryan and his 10 year old son, Jesse. A neighbor was also murdered.

I have to keep reading, but it appears there's some kind of family connection. The murderer was going to live with the child's mom? Not sure of that as the mom has spoken out today and said she never heard of him.

DNA was found on a beer can.

Sorry, Ormsby stayed at the home of Tamara Strout after the murders. Jesse's mother said she and Jesse's father did not get along with the Strout family and believes they may know something about the murders. Jamie Merrill who is Jesse's mom said she feels no comfort that a person has been arrested in the murder of her little boy.

From June 2012:

http://bangordailynews.com/2012/06/07/news/aroostook/ormsby-to-be-sentenced-for-triple-murders/

Appearing aloof as the victims’ families expressed their anguish earlier in the day, the 22-year-old who killed three people in a rural home in Amity in June 2010 was sentenced Thursday afternoon to three life terms, one for each murder.

Since parole in Maine was abolished in 1976, Thayne Ormsby will spend the rest of his life in prison...

Ormsby was convicted on April 13 in the stabbing deaths of Jeffrey Ryan, 55, Ryan’s son Jesse, 10, and Ryan family friend Jason Dehahn, 30, all of Amity, on June 22, 2010. They were found dead about 27 hours after the killings at the elder Ryan’s home on U.S. Route 1, according to police. All three died of multiple stab wounds.

Man convicted in triple murder in Maine appeals to federal court

A Maine man convicted of murdering three people in the Aroostook County town of Amity is appealing his conviction in federal court.

Thayne Ormsby’s appeal, filed this month in U.S. District Court, contends he was interviewed by detectives for three hours after he asked for a lawyer. He also contends his trial lawyers were ineffective.

Ormsby has tried several times to have his conviction overturned or his case reviewed.

In 2013, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled unanimously that Ormsby’s confessions were made voluntarily and that their admission during his trial didn’t violate his Fifth Amendment rights.
