I have been searching for a match for this UID for months-Case id number 651 http://www.fluiddb.com/

Found same day that he died-10-5-1999
36-45
Blonde or Strawberry Blonde Hair/ Blue eyes
5'6
173 pounds

Today, I noticed a recently added file on the Doe Network site that I think deserves consideration as a potential match.

Danny Lee Jones-Endangered Runaway
DOB: Jan 26,1959
Missing: September, 1, 1974-15 years old.
5'5 150 pounds
Blonde Hair/Blue Eyes
http://www.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/PubCaseSearchServlet?act=viewChildDetail&caseNum=1138343&orgPrefix=NCMC&seqNum=1&caseLang=en_US&searchLang=en_US

There isn't much to go on with this one...just the physical description and the artists rendering and age progression photo.

The age looks right. The UID would have been 40 in 1999.
The age progression photo shows Danny at 51.

It looks like the artist attempted to illustrate a dimple in Danny's age progression photo. The UID's artist rendering appears to have a dimple as well.

There is no mention of a scar on the UID-just stretch marks...Danny had a scar on his right arm.

It seems that because the body was found immediately after death this should be any easy match but maybe the reason he remains a UID after 11 years is because he has been missing since he was a child.

As always your comments would be appreciated.

The artists depiction of the UID alive are pretty good. Namus has a very extensive list of rule-outs regarding this man as well.

Interesting thing to note, the Florida case sight has the UID listed at 5'6" while Namus has him estimated at 71" (5'11")!

Thank you for bringing his NamUs file to my attention. I came across a missing man a few days ago and made a note to compare him with this FL UID--please let me know what you think of this possible match.

I've looked at Steve Arrowood Jr several times, I would say it is highly unlikely considering his circumstances...however its not entirely unreasonable to think he completely disconnected from society and had a break-down of sorts as a result of being being threatened by the husband of the woman he was having relations with. I too try and think "outside the box" in these cases....I still think the UID is highly unlikely Steve Arrowood, but not an impossibility.

What about this guy, Paul Clyde Rollins, missing since 1995 http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/rollins_paul.html

His weight, height, eye color match up. The UID looks to have dark hair in the pic (even though it is listed as dark blonde) and Paul is listed as having brown.

He is also not on the Namus ruleout list.

I have to admit that I'm not the best when it comes to eyeing up matches; I've been working on the little details and my gut says no regarding Paul.

Maybe someone else could articulate it better, but the chins in comparison seem different and the ears IMO don't quite line up the same.

I saw this guy also,http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/mohney_robert.html
I don't think the noses match up but when I saw the pictures of Robert Mohney, it reminded me of this UID so I came and compared it... kind of scary, but i doubt it's him. ( I can't set up a side by side, I am at work and don't have the tools here on my computer)

His story is very odd! It sounds like the roomate isn't telling the whole story about why Robert up and left in the middle of dinner.

Have you had any luck trying to locate the morgue photos of this UID? I'm really curious about the nose as well and how "true to life" it is. I can see the resemblance between the two and he isn't ruled out (unless I missed something). The circumstances are odd, where they located Roberts car makes me assume he drowned...but you never know.

Side by side -- I don't think so. Mohney's nose is thin and arched; the UID's is straighter and kind of lumpy. With the beard it's hard to tell, but I think the UID's chin is pointer rather than broad and spade-shaped. And Mohney's face is much wider through the cheekbones.

I haven't found any morgue pics of the UID... I will see if I can...

Like I said, I doubted it was him, but that wrinkily forehead and those blue eyes stuck out at me... (I know the nose and face shape really didn't look alike)

The UID had stretch marks in his armpits; could that possibly mean he was significantly heavier at one point in his life?

Larry Michael Wood was listed at 6'0" and 230 lbs when he disappeared from California in March of 1998. The UID was found in FL 18 months later at (according to Namus) est 5'11" and 173lbs. Do the noses look close to you guys/gals? Not much info is available on Larry, but he isn't listed as being ruled out on Namus. Thoughts?

Not a lot of information to rule Larry in or out, but the stats and circumstances fit -- if he was living homeless on the other side of the country, he certainly could have lost that much weight. And the faces do look quite similar.

Bumping this. With his height of 71 inches and bright blue eyes, it seems that this man should be able to be identified.

This man, missing since April 26, 1986 from CA, looks similar to the UID. No DNA, no FP, no dentals available, according to Doe, but NAMUS says DNA tests are complete. Michael Pederson, missing since 1986 from CA

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/4773dmca.html.

For some odd reason, Mr. Pederson does not appear in Doenetwork's list of CA missing when searching by state on Doe. The state list skips from an MP missing on April 11,1986 to one missing on May 1, 1986.

This may turn out to be Fletcher Currin.

Finding Fletcher: A man's search for what became of his troubled childhood best friend

A single spotlight illuminated one end of an otherwise dark room at the Pinellas-Pasco County Medical Examiner's office. William Pellan sat behind a computer, eyes fixed to the image of a dead man. Everything I needed to know was on that screen, glowing on his face. But Florida law forbids non-family inspection of autopsy documents. If only I could see, I might be able to answer a question that has haunted me for 15 years, leading me on one fruitless search after another. I might finally learn what became of my childhood best friend. Stewart Fletcher Currin has been missing since 1999.
Enlisting the help of St. Petersburg police, they will seek fingerprints from a mid 1970s drunken driving arrest while Fletcher was a student at Emory. If all else fails, they will consider taking DNA from an envelope Fletcher licked shut in 1996 before he mailed me a letter.

After 15 years, the mystery behind 'Finding Fletcher' has been solved

One option remained, which seemed like the longest shot of all. Before he mailed that letter 19 years ago, Fletcher had licked the envelope shut. Maybe the seal contained his DNA.
It wasn't unheard of to get DNA from an envelope, assuming there was any to get; after all these years, it could have been rubbed off or exposed to the elements. When Ordeman opened the packet and pulled out the letter, her eyes shot to the seal. It was still stuck, still intact, leaving the DNA locked inside for her to find. The fact that I tear open envelopes from the end instead of the middle, she told me, may have made all the difference. She unstuck the glue and began to take swabs. A few hours later, a smile broke across her face.
Fletcher's remains will be shipped to tiny, picturesque Olivia, N.C., where he will be buried in a cemetery behind a Presbyterian church, a small white sanctuary with a tall steeple.

RIP Fletcher.
