ORLANDO, Fla. -- A deadline has been set for Thursday morning in the case against Casey Anthony.

Anthony's defense team has just a few more hours to turn in a list of the evidence they want to inspect at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Last week, Judge Belvin Perry ruled that deputies need to be present while Team Casey sorts through that evidence.

Her attorneys unsuccessfully argued that an independent magistrate should be there instead.

Anthony is being held on no bond at the Orange County Jail. She is charged with murder in the disappearance of her daughter, Caylee.

Caylee's remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in December 2008.

Anthony maintains a nanny by the name of Zenaida Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee. Her trial is set to begin in May 2011.

“All they’ve filed with the clerk’s office is this notice of compliance saying that they had this meeting with prosecutors, they pointed out what they want to look at, but they’re not making any more of the evidence more specific.”

Casey Anthony's defense team stopped short Thursday of making public what evidence they want to review with their team of experts next week.

In a notice of compliance filed Thursday, Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, acknowledged that he and Cheney Mason met with prosecutors on July 5 and informed them of what they want to review.

The Casey Anthony defense team filed a 'notice of compliance' today, saying it has indentified a list of items held as evidence that it wants to inspect.

The notice of compliance was filed shortly before 11:30 a.m. It was filed by attorneys J. Cheney Mason and Jose Baez.

The notice says the defense team met with prosecutors Monday and went through evidence property forms submitted by the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "The defense selected all items it wishes to inspect," the document states.

Casey Anthony: Is defense move a ‘cloak and dagger’ one or simply unwise?

The defense team filed a notice of compliance instead of the list by a noon deadline today. The defense attorneys filed it with Judge Belvin Perry instead of through the clerk’s office.

Orlando defense attorney Richard Hornsby, who offers analysis for WESH, scoffed at the defense team’s strategy: “It’s public record. There is no difference between … giving something to the judge and giving something to the clerk.”

Court officials said the defense this afternoon provided a series of Orange County Sheriff's Office property forms via a password-protected website, but Judge Perry has not yet had a chance to review the documents yet.

"Judge Perry is out of the office until Monday," court spokeswoman Karen Levey said in a just-released statement. "He will review the material when he returns to determine if it can be distributed at that time."

She said the property forms amount to at least 100 pages and are not contained in a list-type format.

Casey's attorneys met the judge's deadline, which was Thursday at noon, to turn over the list. The list is public record, but the defense did not file it with the clerk and sent it to Chief Judge Belvin Perry late Thursday, while he's on vacation.

The judge expects to release it early next week.

Just before noon Jose Baez filed a Notice of Compliance. In it he informed the judge that he and co-council Cheney Mason had met with State Prosecutors Tuesday to go over the evidence list, leaving notes of what they were interested in seeing next week.

Baez also wrote that he furnished a copy of that list to the judge. The defense did not file a copy of the evidence list with the clerk of courts office.
