CA - Quesi Chavez, 10, stabbed to death, Fort McArthur, 9 July 2010

LOS ANGELES - A woman was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of murder after Los Angeles police say she stabbed her 10-year-old daughter to death and then tried to commit suicide.
Detectives said Monday that 49-year-old Bong Sook Chavez remains hospitalized in stable condition. She'll be moved to a hospital jail ward when physically able.

Chavez is suspected of stabbing her daughter, Quesi, with a kitchen knife early Friday in their home at the Fort MacArthur military housing facility in San Pedro.

Twelve lousy years for murdering her child. Ridiculous. She'll probably be out in four years.

If a random stranger had killed that poor child he would have been put to death or been given LWOP. But since 'mom' killed her, she walks free in a few years. UUGGHHHH

Children are devalued when they are murdered by one of their parents. Especially if it was their own mother.

    Shameful.
