FL - 22 Month Old Girl Beaten by 13 yr. old, Possibly Sexually Assaulted
A 22 month baby girl was left at a home daycare and beaten and possibly sexually assaulted by the owner's boyfriend's 13 year old son.
This just makes me sick. This person was trusted to care for their baby and then she leaves. She left her boyfriend's son to watch all the children while "she takes something to her boyfriend".

The boy told detectives he punched the infant “at least 20 times” in the face and body

Lovett was arrested on a charge of child neglect. The boy, whose name is not being released as he has not been charged as an adult, was taken to a juvenile detention center on an aggravated child abuse charge. He could still face additional charges.
When detectives spoke with him, according to the police report he gave numerous accounts of what happened to the toddler. He said she fell off the bed, they were play wrestling, she was fighting with a 4-year-old and she'd been punched while playing a video game.
Bradenton police say this was not the first time they responded to Lovett's daycare. Back in June detectives investigated a claim of child molestation at the daycare after the parents of a three year old boy say he was abused.
According to a police report that suspect is 15 years old. Investigators say he denied the allegations. The 15 year old is the brother of the teen arrested in the child abuse case.
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP

Oh my gosh! The 15-year old had been accused in June and this woman thinks it is safe to leave the kids with the 13-year old???? WTH! I think all punishment should be doubled for her failure to THINK!!!!

I dont even have words for how much that p*ssed me off.
I dont suppose any "thought" had anything to do with it.
hence she was off running errands.
cant say for sure but I am willing to put money on the assumption that the parents using the daycare wouldnt use if if they knew she was doodling off and leaving toddlers in the care of teenage boys. one way or another that's asking for trouble.

IMHO - There's more than one tragedy here.
First of all 13 year old kids while old enough to know better are usually products of their enviroment. If the 15 yr old brother was accused and nothing was done that's a failure right there on the departments. Secondly, the lady running the daycare obviously has no clue what so ever.
Leaving a 13 year old kid to look after one child would of been a challenge. Leaving him with few.. insane. I'm not defending the boys actions i am simply stating - this kind of behaviour and i'm assuming here from what i have read has been going through the family.
Product of his enviroment?
Either way this is a tragedy.

It would be apparent that these "boys" are victims of sex abuse themselves, what are the chances two brothers within the same month are accused of molestation and rape ?
I hope their family dynamics are look into as well.....
I hope this little one recovers mentally and physically from this ordeal, prayers for her and her family tonight.....What lies behind you and what lies in front of you pales in comparison to what lies inside of you....

Some intresting comments here.
I feel for the child and the boy - and his brother.
There certainly seems to be a more sinster story brewing.
How many more times does a kid have to fall through the cracks to be made into a news story?
just so frustrating

I have searched this morning to see if there is any more news on this, but nothing. I thought there would be additional charges on the boy for sexual assault.
Here is a video of the house and a neighbor talking about the case:
The property and house look like a mess, no place for children to play. MOO
Lovett does not own the property, it is a rental. I checked this with the property office.
Home Daycares in Manatee county (State of Florida) are NOT inspected and do not have to be licensed if they have under 10 children. They only have to register and take a 30 hour class. There are certain rules and regulations they are suppose to follow but they are never checked.

Local day care lacked state inspections
Detectives still investigating attack on Manatee toddler
"The state’s lax oversight of home day cares is back in the spotlight in Manatee County after police say a 13-year-old boy brutally beat and possibly raped a 22-month-old child in a local day care.
Police arrested the owner and operator of Our Kids Home Daycare after a parent brought his baby girl from the day care to the hospital badly beaten. A doctor determined the child had been beaten, choked and sexually assaulted, according to Bradenton police reports...."
More at link plus a bunch of new comments many of which point towards Heather having some connections with LE and knowing the teen's propensity for violence
ITA, fhc, something does not seem right here. Still researching.

Neglect Charge dropped!
"The charge against Lovett was dropped because there was no evidence she “was aware that the 13-year-old boy posed a risk of harm to the children,” according to a decline memo issued by the State Attorney’s Office on July 30."
This is just unbelievable
