NY - Dr Rakesh Punn in Bethpage NY molests his patients

Law enforcement in Bethpage NY wants you to contact them if Dr Punn saw your child-this pediatrician confessed to videotaping, photographing and fondling his patients.

Dr Punn would have his patients wear masks that obscured their ability to see and then abuse them. Prosecutors were alerted on Tuesday to the crimes, arrested Punn on Thursday and he confessed.

I cannot state what I think about his defense attorney's statements without obtaining a t/o so I will leave you to process them yourselves...

I am so glad that some of these so-called doctors are getting caught. It just makes me wonder how many more there are that are still getting away with it.

ETA: I think it seems like an epidemic because for so many years no one believed a doctor could do such things. Now that it is clear that they can, they are being looked at more closely and disclosures are taken much more seriously.

Delaware just implemented a law that says any child - male or female- under the age of 15 must have a chaperon in the room when a child is being examined by a doctor.

BETHPAGE, N.Y. – A pediatrician has been arrested, charged with producing child *advertiser censored*. police say the little girls in the videos are his own patients. Police raided the office of Dr. Rakesh Punn and located five videotapes of him fondling patients as young as 11, some blindfolded, naked and possibly drugged. In a police confession, Punn admitted to molesting at least nine girls saying that after placing a blindfold over their eyes, he would videotape himself touching and manipulating the girl’s genitals. In other cases, he would use a small digital camera hidden on his desk to record girls exposing their breasts in various positions. Punn has a civil surgeons licensed issued by homeland security giving him the ability to examine immigrants looking to change their status. Investigators feel he used this vulnerability to his advantage and is why they feel it will be hard to identify all the girls on the tapes................................

DA: Pediatrician made "how-to" molestation book

"A New York pediatrician charged with sexually abusing young female patients, including some who were secretly videotaped or photographed while naked, compiled a "how-to book" on molestation that he titled "Sex" and kept stored on his home computer, a prosecutor said Friday. The book allegedly included his writings, plus passages from the ancient Indian sex manual, the Kama Sutra...."

"....Punn also is charged with running a prescription scam for obtaining chloral hydrate, a controlled substance that Nassau County Assistant District Attorney Jane Zwirn-Turkin described as a "date-rape" drug.

When he was first arrested, Punn was ordered held on $3.5 million bail, but prosecutors argued Friday for higher bail, noting that Punn has a 24-year-old wife living in India and should be considered a flight risk. They previously said that when he was arrested, Punn had a large amount of cash in his Bethpage home, as well as a forged international driver's license with his photo, but a false name and birth date....."

This guy seemed to follow almost an identical MO as Dr. Earl Bradley of Lewes, DA. Clinical trials, my bunnies!! Those poor young girls. Delivered by their far too trusting parents to this monster. What a nightmare.
