Thanks for posting this, DK. I read an article about this stuff the other day. I had never even heard of such a thing. Parents definitely need to be aware. It sounds very unsafe because everyone mixes up their own "concoction".....yikes!

Dark Knight, I had never heard of this either, thanks. The spice sounds like the movie Dune. I hope parents will be aware of this new danger.

Scary. The real stuff is not half as dangerous. mo

Maybe this should be a sticky so more parents/people can learn about this new "legal" drug.

See, the illegal variety, not nearly so dangerous as the legal variety.

Hint, hint, Mr. Government.

They've banned the sale of this stuff here locally. I work in mental health. We've had a couple of kids that needed mental health inpatient treatment thanks to the effects of this stuff.

Ironically, they would have been better off smoking the real deal (Not that I'm advocating teens doing that!).

An update on this frightening "trend". It was on this evening's news. They need to ban this.

Along with this I had just read about kids are now smoking nutmeg out of apples.

Warning a bunch of people smoking this K2 out of bongs on YouTube.

ABC News is a bit slow, I posted this 4 months ago, and since I posted this, my county as well as most of the cities in my county have banned it.

U.S. troops are increasingly using an easy-to-get herbal mix called "Spice," which mimics a marijuana high, is hard to detect and can bring on hallucinations that last for days.

The abuse of the substance has so alarmed military officials that they've launched an aggressive testing program that this year has led to the investigation of more than 1,100 suspected users.
