MO - "I just fondled and stuff like that" says former priest/volunteer Spec. Olympics
Mo. Special Olympics ousts ex-priest over abuse
"A former Roman Catholic priest who was part of a $5 million sex abuse settlement in Wisconsin two decades ago was suspended from a volunteer position with Special Olympics Missouri and has admitted some of the abuse.
Mark Musso, president and CEO of Special Olympics Missouri, said the former priest, Tom Ericksen, 62, of Kansas City, was suspended indefinitely last week after the organization learned of the 1989 settlement with the Diocese of Superior, Wis.
Ericksen admitted in an interview with The Associated Press on Monday that he had fondled three boys but denied having contact with a fourth child involved in the settlement. He said the settlement totaled about $5 million...."

So let me guess, the Special Olympics doesn't run background checks on clergy who choose to volunteer?

He wasn't prosecuted so I doubt anything would have shown up anyway. Would a background check show a private settlement? I don't think it would, but I'm not sure.

Now's the chance for the RCC to make amends:

Do I have to go look for a "Youth Pastor Is A Magician And Assaults Kid's" report?
Catholics in Kansas City are halla mad that the Church didn't tell them this guy was living amongst them presently. He's been there three years he said and he's legal. Hasn't offended. No need for the Church to tell anything.
Ummmmmmmm, O.K. pal.
BTW, him saying it happened back in the 80's like poof so now everyone get over it smacks of creepiness.
